heh, my SNES had a whole colony of ants, including the queen breeding on the SPC700...
They can indeed. I don't remember what forum it was or even which console, but someone opened it up after he got it and there were a bunch of dead cockroaches inside. It might have been a Dreamcast. It was gross. He cleaned them out and got everything working again.
I bought a 32X from the US of A, and inside the tiny holes of the AC adaptor there was some dead cockroach or something. Gross.
But how do they get inside the consoles? Someone must have opened the unit and let them in! Or maybe they use the cart slot as a door.

Here is the thread over at Kikizo about the cockroaches in the Dreamcast, complete with pictures!
I believe they crawl in there for warmth. Don't be a slob in the first place and you'll never have roaches. I've never seen them here in Colorado.
Common.
I had firsthand experience seeing a Gamecube crawling with at least three different types of six-legged fiends.
I also purchased a Genesis that had a bunch of dead roaches in it, but I was confident they were dead because it was winter and the package was out in the cold.
I've heard roaches can survive atomic bombs and if you cut their head off they die about three weeks later - of starving. I don't know if it's true though.

Damn, I sure am happy we don't have those creeps here! I've never seen any bugs in video games before, just dust.
I remember when I was a kid though, I found an old radio outside that I took and walked away with it. Shortly after a whole lot of large, black spiders poured out of the radio! There were TONS of them! Needless to say, I threw it away immediately. Ugh. Still creeps me out when I think about it. I've never seen spiders like those since then, and I'm happy for that. They were horrible.

why would you want to deal with 8-track? I'm still trying to forget them XD my player eats every tape within a day.. and apparently that's normal!
Here's the worst offender!

I've found spider webs in five of my seven Genesis models, so it's pretty common.
BTW, Zebbe, that thing about roaches living after their heads are severed is true. (I tried it as a kid.) The reason is because cockroaches have their brains distributed throughout their bodies, with only a small portion in their actual heads. Also sort of weird is how their blood sloshes around inside their exoskeleton - there are no arteries or anything.
Ah, fifth grade science!
Mines funnier and more relavent, so :P
