Coping with Nintendo fan boys/girls

I don't really have to deal with those types, but why not talk each time about all the great games for Nintendo platforms that she likely has never heard of, which will likely be anything other than the most mainstream franchises. You can make her feel like a Nintendo n00b (which she is) anytime she tries to talk "gaming".

In a way, Ive kind of done this. She asked if I had any nintendo systems of my own, and I told her what I had. When I mentioned Virtual Boy, she stared at me blankly. I was like "You know, the nintendo console that bombed monthes after release?" And she immediately fired back "Well, it couldnt have been a nintendo product then....cause Ive never heard of anything nintendo failing..." So I brought it over one time and she had her little nerdgasm over it, and wanted it just cause it has the Nintendo logo on it... ::ROLLS EYES:: Over the years, Ive given/sold most of my nintendo stuff away just cause I dont play it as often as my Sega, Sony, etc gear. I mean, I get it....she's young (20) so she missed a good chunk of the Bit Wars that we all grew up with. It just saddens me that we gotta deal with narrowmindedness like this on a regular basis.... But its the way she goes...

That's absolutely true.
Also, most of them played (or not) the "legendary games" on a emulator.

I'm lucky in that point because both my small brother( naturally, i educated him correctly ) and two of my closest friends don't have that screwed-up mentality. We play anything, but Sega is at the top of the list.

For those hipsters, classic gaming is just Zelda , Mario, MegaMan, Final Fantasy and Sonic. One of my Nintendo friend once said: "yeah, i only liked Streets of Rage on the Sega Genesis(!!!!!)".That, in Brazil , is fucked up man.
Too much time on the internet reading nonsense, i suppose.

Unfortunely, that kind of narrowed mentality is becoming more common than ever in these days ( and that goes for everything ).

Im starting to feel that way too - especially when I hear crap outta her mouth like "Whats an Atari 2600? A Virtual Boy huh?
