Nothing inherently. It all comes down to moderation and forum maintenance. I'm not a cab or AES collector, but I know plenty of awesome people who aren't douchebags who do collect them.

It is possible to discuss SNK games civilly. But like a tiger, I cannot change my stripes. I am an always will be an asshole....and probably depressed. I will inevitably insult someone and it will set off a chain of posts that will likely lead to the locking of this thread, and any others like it. Somebody ban before I can't be stopped.

Most people here won't talk about the games and only want to call people assholes and such.

I own a CMVS, NG CD, Home System and NGPC and would love to hear peoples thoughts on the games/systems but it always turns into name calling.

I think it turns into namecalling only because people like CrystalPepsiFan from Neo-Geo Forums were trolling topics to just start stuff, because for whatever reason their forums hate ours, who knows. I think Neo Geo system has the unfortunate link to the craziness that is the collecting scene in general though, tough to even have opinions on a system where for some reason the games cost 5-10k apiece for seemingly no reason. I love Neo Geo Turf Masters, but why does it cost so much money? Turns me off from the system, even though I like playing the arcade cabinets when I do see them. Metal Slug, Bubble Bobble, Turf Masters, Mark of the Wolves, are all excellent games.

But getting the home ports of them? Forget it.

Also owned a Neo Geo Pocket Color for a little while but the system really didn't do anything for me, mainly because that analog stick made games a lot harder to play. Match of the Millenium was an awesome fighting game for a handheld of the time, and Sonic Pocket Adventure was fun too, but not really fun to play with that damn analog stick.

I'm a member of the Neo-Geo forums and while a few may hate this place (or any place) the majority don't I'd say. There is a vocal minority that like trolling various sites but here, you guys take care of them pretty quick. Some Sega-16 members like to insult the NG forums so you have namecallers here don't forget.

Other than a couple trolls of your very own, I really enjoy Sega-16

True, we all have our trolls. I guess I don't care for a forum that had a bunch of users comment about me personally, all amongst people who I'd barely or never even talked to online. I think both sides like to instigate though, you're right about that, that's just the way video game forums are. Like Digital Press and AtariAge, or NintendoAge, or other places.

If he or any other members cause problems, i'll deal with them, weather it be a "Warning" or a ban from the forums.

I collect alot of games/systems, including the Neo-Geo AES, however, I don't have but a couple games for the AES...honestly, I can't afford it...but if I run across a cheap game, i'll get it....people blow it way out of proportion when it comes to Neo-Geo stuff....its a video game console; play it and enjoy it...or just leave the system alone and play whatever games you enjoy.

You are exactly right, and if my forum grows to bigger crowd, then i'm sure there will be trolls on there, but I will do my best to keep the drama and name-calling down to a minimum....i'll do my best at being a moderator and if I see someone being treated unfairly or someone engaging in name-calling, i'll do my best to put a stop to it.....
