Following Dave Jones of EEVBlog, eh? You're on the right track to learning quite a lot regarding electronics, this guy's damn good.
As for 5V and Ground locations, yes. Use the solder points you bridged as per the CCAM diagram you linked.

Hello, I just installed the MegaAmp on a VA0 MD2 and everything sounds well, except there is a slight fuzziness compared to a Model 1 on our speakers. Did we wire something wrong? Can there be "bad placement" of wiring that may cause fuzz in the background? The filter switch works, unfiltered being a little more clear/full. On a side note, are the two different switches for Right and Left channel?
Also, I believe I isolated the fuzz to the Right channel by using mono on my Sony PVM. The fuzz is not there if I use Left.
Update: Helder is also helping me on this one. I'll post back what happens.

So I tried to remove the Sega CD Right channel wire, and then the 32X Right channel wire, and none of that helped. I re-routed the right channel wire away from a capacitor and that did not help.
Here is the setup: (note 32XR and SCDR have been disconnected)
Attachment 11711
We went in and checked the solder joints on the components, some needed to be reflowed. Everything still seems the way it should be installation wise. I need to test the sound again after the components were reflowed. If anyone sees something wrong with our install or has an idea for what could cause fuzz on one of the channels let me know.

Your attachment is broken, but I do remember the noise coming from the right channel of the YM3438 on not just VA0 boards, but also VA1 and VA1.8. Exactly why that is, I have no idea. The noise happens on the stock circuit, as well.

Try this attachment. I kinda figured that this slight fuzz was actually inherent to the system.
WOW! It's been a long time since I last posted in here... Let's solve that by adding another Mega Amp clip:
As always, using a YM2612 Mega Amp.
Had the Mega Amp installed for about a year now and have just gotten a 32x unit, do i need to do any modification to my install to get the Mega AMP to work when using a 32x??
Depends on the console you installed in, but basically it comes down to removing the additional capacitors and adding 2 resistors and 2 capacitors as per the schematic.
If your circuit was already put together with the 32X audio inputs, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise, refer to the schematics on the first post to see which parts you need to add.
please i need install of megaamp for a va0 jap md2 photo: https://scontent-mxp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...23&oe=5830B59C
help please
my board is different from this https://imgur.com/qcMxGXa
It looks like two of the capacitors are in a slightly different place on your VA0 board than any other VA0 board I've ever seen. It does seem the part numbers are the same, though, and the only audio source that's in a slightly different location is 32X Left. By the looks of the PCB, I'd say the capacitor directly to the left of the power switch is the 32X Left input. Everything else should be in the same spot.
