Default Cant defend Internet Explorer anymore

The main browsers I use are Mozilla Firefox, whatever the lastest version is, and IE8. IE8 worked fine for me for many years and I defended it to people who said IE sucks. Well because IE8 is old, I cant see certain things on sites that I used to see. A lot of times Ill get a your browser is outdated scroll and you need to update. Didnt want to do it but since its crashing more often now and is outdated I figured I'd try IE9. Big mistake. It was so much worse that IE8. It was slow and sluggish and web pages wouldnt even load properly. Looked like total shit. So I tried IE10. Same thing. Didnt notice much of a difference from IE9. Same problems. So its looks like Im finally done with IE rather than go back to 8 since Im still gonna have those problems I mentioned earlier. I'll still defend IE8 and say up until last year and previous years it was fine and didnt give me much problems. 9 and 10 are pathetic and Im not even gonna try 11.

If it worked well for you, I understand, but for me, I get malware instantly if it opens up once.

I've never used IE just because most other browsers are better tbh.

jumped from firefox to chrome when the former got too bloated for me, but it's happening again. biggest things that drive me batty with chrome:

    1) wish the download bar went away when things finished up
    2) boy it'd be neat if i could have the browser auto fill-in certain sites but not the porn ones when other people use this computer, especially publicly (;_

it also sometimes shits the bed with pdf files, some YT stuff, the odd gif etc. ive yet to find a perfect browser since the dreamcast, haha

IE after 9 became a decent browser from a standards compliance standpoint, but they fucked up the UI and the hardware accelerated rendering is incapable of rendering crisp text (apparently 10 can, but only on windows 7, on 8 it still looks like someone smeared the screen with vaseline).

Microsoft is incapable of doing something well these days.

When could you defend it? Before ActiveX was a thing?

If you care about not getting your computer pwned by various malware, you should stay away from all versions of IE. If you really want to use IE, you pretty much have to stick to the newest versions just to make sure it's as secure as possible.

It opens a new "incognito" window that doesn't log any of your activity. Once you close that browser window it's gone. No need to turn anything off or on.

General opinion on Chrome is that it's a botnet due to Google's lust for data mining. I also think that there was a period of time where it wouldn't work on anything below Vista which didn't build up much loyalty in me

I used to love IE8, but I could not stand 9 or 10. I jumped to Firefox and never looked back. On IE, the GIF on the corner of the site logo here "smears" itself whenever something moves on it.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

Microsoft should just give up. They CANNOT make a good web browser, not even if somebody payed them 100 million dollars to do so. They should just hire mozilla programmers to make the next IE.

I remember using early versions of Chrome on XP, so it must be some weird in between version of it when it didn't run on pre-Vista.

One thing that someone could do, though it may need a pretty beastly machine to do it, is to just grab the Chromium source code and compile that into a browser for Windows, Mac, Linux (actually it's already done for Linux in many cases), etc. Chromium is the open-source core of Chrome -- all the browser-only stuff without any of the Google data mining stuff. However, and I don't know why, no one bothers to package up pre-built versions of it, at least last time I checked.

    Right now I use Firefox.
