Other than the crap UI yes, it works quite well. Can't say the same about the Win 8 version though, it has that shitty text rendering like Firefox with hardware acceleration. Except there it stays crap even if you disable hardware accel, while in FF disabling it fixes the problem.

I do wish Clippy would still appear in Visual Studio whenever you're pressing Ctrl + C followed by Ctrl + V.

Update/Install Adobe FLASH if you want to watch streaming videos on the internet. Hate on flash if you want, but that's just how it works. Try 240p in cases involving slow internet connections. How many people use this connection, is someone taking the rest of bandwidth away? Is someone torenting crap (that will screw with most super slow connections)? Is the computer just really old? Have the latest audio and video drivers installed (not generic Windows crap, but OEM drivers)? Try a different browser (have a back-up browser if a web page decides to give you Hell in another). Finally, is your browser up to date?

Yeah, I've had that problem as well. First I thought it was bandwith throttling, but now I'm not so sure

Blame Balmer, it's the "in" thing to do

Well he is an idiot, it is also the team's and division's fault responsible for various Microsoft products as well. Microsoft isn't exactly listening to what it's costumers want and releasing products that are crap. Being the guy in charge of the company, he is not very good at managing it.

Surprised no one mentioned Opera by now. It is a little slow at times, but stable as all get out.

As for IE, there are certain sites that are optimized for IE and you have to use it to access those. IRS site for downloadable tax forms comes to mind. Last time I tried, I could not even view IRS forms in Mozilla.
    It is finished!

Opera is Chrome now, they switched engines a while ago. Prompting me to switch to FF.

Honestly, I don't understand why everyone hates IE. All browsers do 99% of the time is display text. How can IE mess it up so badly?

Opera is one thing I can say I can no longer defend.

Switch to Webkit engine ? Sure why not... but totally ditch the Opera UI that makes the program what it is ? They signed their death certificate with that...
I'll be sticking to the old versions as long as they still work.

You cannot do that in other browsers though (310 tabs):

Firefox would crash at some 150 mark, and Chrome would start exclaiming out of memory. IE would become pretty much unresponsive...
But with Opera (11.64) it would suffer in no way as far as performance goes, and I still had 600MB RAM left from 2GB total, and all got nicely released as I closed the tabs. Each tab featured unique image files.

    Opera here.

Yes it is sad to see the old UI go (where are my mouse driven log-ins?!?!?!), but I just switched to the webkit version and I doubt I will get back to the old version now. It's still better than Firefox and Chrome.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.
