Game Gear LED mod adjustable brightness?

So I did the mod, rather simple, but the brightness knob does not adjust the brightness at all. Is there any step involved in getting this to work?

Tapping led power from the wrong pad from the pcb?

Did you replace all the onboard caps? I am trying to picture it as it has been a while since i have stuffed around with a gg, but the light doesn't go up and down in brightness the screen itself changes. Hence the caps fixing that bit.

Ah thank you so much, that explains it. I was testing out the mod on a board with a bad lcd.
