Hell, I'd be interested if it works well. The N64 is sort of an odd duck in my collection since the one I have won't do RGB, and therefore can't be added to my RGB - component box to get a nice output on my TV. Everything else I have can be hooked up this way and actually work nicely.

It will almost certainly just upscale the graphics.

I RGB modded mine.. It doesn't really make a huge difference.

Yea I think the games would have to be re-programmed to be internally rendered at HD. Imagine how awesome that would be though.

i really gotta disagree here; RGB + proper upscaler is worlds away from composhit we had in the day, and while s-vid at least rids most of the shitty effects, it's still a marked difference in the right game. did you amp the signal too?

I dont get it,RGB gives the pure image so whats the idea in this? im guessing it has a built in scaler or something.

Yeah, not all can be RGB modded, mine, sadly, cannot.

But it's more about getting the best out of it that you can. Right now I can get s-video at best. Which, when run through my system, isn't all that great compared to what the rgb-component gives me.

Like Eclectic said, a looooot of N64's can not do RGB anymore due to Nintendo designing later pcb's differently.

I want an RGB N64, but I'd have to resort to importing a Japanese console or an older US N64.

Mines japanese and i RGB modded it,judging by the look of that board theres some potentially tricky solder work to be done, your also probably going to have to mod the case to fit it in,and we dont know the price of it yet,In other words its going to be easier for you to import a n64 and mod it yourself.
