Default Anyone up for some Daytona USA multiplayer on PS3-PSN ?

I dunno if anyone still plays Daytona USA on PSN but it'd be fun to play some multiplayer matches again.

Can't play on LIVE at present, the 360 is with family, but I always preferred the controls on PS3 Dual Shock 3.

Hopefully people still play--I realize Sega released this on both platforms almost 2 and 1/2 years ago, October 2011.

    Anyway,

I did in late 2011 at release and 2012 but haven't seen any lately.

Just created a session so you or anyone else on PSN should be able to find it.

Hey, if you're free during the day, I'd be up for some online matches against you. I've been dying to race against some other Daytona USA players.

    ^Sure thing, sounds like fun.

On an unrelated note, I found this great footage of a Japanese player's go at the advanced track in Daytona USA 2:

I almost forgot how much Amusement Vision + Genki improved the graphics for the Dreamcast rendition back in 2000.

So I found a couple of 1080p videos on Youtube of Daytona USA 2001 run in the NullDC Dreamcast Emulator which I downloaded using 4K Video Downloader (otherwise there's probably no other way to download from YT in 1080p) and then I uploaded them to Google Drive.

The original native resolution of the Dreamcast game was most likely 640 x 480. I don't know what resolution it was emulated at in NullDC or how the footage was captured, but I downloaded the 1080p videos as MP4s and put them on Google Drive so you can download them to play in whatever media player you like.

Gameplay of 777 Speedway, Mermaid Lake and Rin Rin Rink:

So considering all those changes to the resolution (emulation, capture, upload, d/l, u/l, d/l, etc) while I cannot say that's what the Dreamcast version looks like at native 1080p, it's certainly much higher than what it is on real hardware and looks great.

If only the control/handling had been spot on...

Once I finish some big college assignments, I'd be willing to jump in for some multiplayer. I'm still trying to save up for a stand for my Driving Force GT wheel. So expensive...

Indeed, and it would look at least this good in HD
