Default Game Gear Battery Pack Repair

Hey guys I was wondering if there is a simple replacement for the batteries in the Game Gear officaial battery packs. I have two kinds and both don't even offer a hint of a charge.

I was hoping that there would be some new style battery that lasts much longer that'll fit in there.

    Thanks guys!

The first type ordinary rc nicad battery fits (7.2v). Think Tamiya etc. Needs plug change from memory.

I didn't watch the whole video but this may get the pack working again.

It didn't take a rocket science degree in engineering to search youtube for these videos.
Your comment above makes me think like the first link was not enough to help you out but then again everyone reads comments a different way.

This Youtube Video may answer your question.
There are two models of the battery pack available. The large external one and one that requires the battery doors on the GG to be removed before it can be used.

I have two of these at home. Both need the battery pack replaced but I kept the module. I have just been using rechargeable batteries in mine and it works for now.
When I get a little extra money I may replace the pack in one of the battery units to have a working one but for now rechargeables do the job.

I've also go this one weird pack that basically are two big bulges you put into where the batteries go as well. It makes the game gear surprisingly easier to grip since you have more to wrap your fingers around. Unfortunately they are dead as a doornail now, but I still keep them around since they are kind of cool.

Does the screen mod increase battery life significantly? I want to get a GG, but I want one with a modded screen, and better battery life would be a major incentive.
