Now, if they went and made some awesome ports of lots of old games, put in a bunch of effort, THEN made a custom PC with a great case, and a custom version of the controller... then sold it all for a bundled price that made it worthwhile (while selling the games themselves individually/bundled on Steam) that could potentially be interesting.
yeah but that woudl never happen

i woudl love to have more model 2 and 3 games
and ports of their arcade games but that just wont happen

sega is content whoring out sonic because sonic sells and coasting on re releases of their 16 bit titles the rest of their catalouge can apparantly drop dead as far as sega is concerned

You don't seem to understand what the concept for the Steam Machine is.

    I voted NO!

But not for the reason stated. I vote no because I don't want to play downloadable/streamable titles only. I have a computer for that, thank you very much.

Wouldn't be interested in the slightest.

I already have a PC with Steam, slapping Sega on someone elses product doesn't make it a Sega console.

And a dedicated Sega console? Meh, at least being a third party developer I can get their games on any platform I want.

I would love one for the simple reason that I'm not a fan of the direction consoles are taking these days,
a Steam Machine hooked up to my TV to replace the Sony/MS consoles would be my preferable choice.
and if this machine is made by Sega and styled like a Sega machine.. then I'm sold!

Why get Fallout 4 on the Xbone when you can get it for your Sega Steam Machine, including all the fan made patches.

I would love a Steam Machine, but I would love a Sega Steam Machine even more.

^kinda with vampy here; ive a nice HTPC hooked up to my plasma but even with controllers & such, there's a disconnect for me at times. sega branded steambox would prolly change much of that in my book.

You're a Wii U owner who is sick of rereleases and doesn't want indie games.... Yeah, you sure did bet on the winning horse this time, Semmie.

The Steam Machine is a cheap Home Theatre PC that runs SteamOS and packs in a Steam controller. It's not going to provide the best PC gaming has to offer, but it already has close to 400 games available and isn't even on the hardware market yet.

I'm confused, I thought the Steam Machine was just going to be an HTPC that allowed you an easy way to play the Steam games
on your tv? or is that what you meant? I thought there'd be more then 400 games on steam by now.

^steam OS is a linux variant

well a front end with debian linux underpinnings http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/1...-own-computer/

most of the steam OS games are either ports from windows originals or indies

well you need the linux ports
most indie games have linux versions and all valve games are ported to linux

but if you want to play something like dirt 3 or street fighter 4 or resident evil 6 or call of duty you wil need windows

Even for games like Street Fighter IV? hmm.. maybe when the Steam Machine picks up speed they'll port it to Linux?

or you can just install windows 7
but that kind of defeats the purpose of steam OS

i doubt old titles wil be ported to linux but new titles might get a linux version if steam OS takes off ( big if )

you can run compatability layers ( wine or codeweavers commercial equivalent ) but those arent perfect and not everything will run

I would buy one...but only to play borderlands 2 and friends.
Sega games are on Dreamcasts, genesises and saturns. Possibly some master systems too.
