    Gba Sonic Advance series

I know people love to bitch about the 3D Sonic games but Sonic Advance always seems to go unmentioned. Some say it is the best of the recent Sonic games since it stays truer to the older ones, and some say it's just mediocre. I never hear anyone actively despise it, just that it's at worst 'decent'. What do you guys think of the Advance series?

They're above average to good. The boss battles are disappointing and the levels are based too much around ultra-fast running (classic sonic had a lot more exploration). Other than that they are quite nice.

One thing I didn't like about those games is the placement of the red/special rings and the difficulty of the bonus stages.

Advance 1 is meh, Advacne 2 is pretty good, Advance 3 is the best, as long as you ignore the tag team gimmick (imo).

I played Advance 2 and didn't like that all you had to do was hold right and occasionally jump to get through most of the levels. Felt pretty shallow compared to the old ones.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

I don't like the sprites, but they're pretty okay.
