    Default TwinBee!!!

I've been on a BIG Twinbee kick over the last several weeks, and have gotten lots of japanese Twinbee games, and I'm enjoying them so much! And I got two more on the way! Twinbee (blue ship) and his companions Winbee (pink ship) and Gwinbee (green ship) are so FRIGGIN' CUTE! XD And Winbee's pilot "Pastel" and Gwinbee's pilot "Mint" are also very kawaii. You could probably tell which pilot is which in the picture. Anyway, basically, right now, anything Twinbee is the [bubble lead] for me. And I love Twinbee's voice!!!! Even though I can't understand ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth. America's first introduction to Twinbee was in 1987 when the second Twinbee game was released in North America under the name "Stinger", and the second (and most recent) exposure to North America the series has gotten was where the game was included on the Konami Arcade Classics Collection for the Nintendo DS, where it was called Rainbow Bell (I don't know why they just couldn't call it Twinbee). Anyway, these are the Twinbee games I currently own!:

    Twinbee (Famicom)
    Stinger (NES)
    Twinbee 3 (Famicom)
    Twinbee Da!! (Game Boy)
    Pop'n Twinbee (Super Famicom)
Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventure (Super Famicom)
Twinbee Taisen Puzzle Dama (PlayStation One)
    Twinbee Deluxe Pack (Sega Saturn)
Mini Famicom No. 19 - Twinbee (Game Boy Advance)
    Twinbee Portable (PSP)

Anyway, if you see Twinbee Portable for PSP anywhere on ebay, I highly recommend it! Plus you don't need to buy any extra **** to play it, because the PSP isn't region protected.

A Twinbee anime OVA called "Twinbee Paradise" was also made, and the theme song to it kicks so much ass. I'm surprised there was never any Twinbee toyline (Or at least none I know of!)

No, but Opa Opa must've been inspired by Twinbee in terms of character design.

TwinBee is a great set of games, I recommend people that enjoyed the Fantasy Zone games, really look into the TwinBee games.

Speaking of which, here's a brilliant article on the games: http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.c...ee/twinbee.htm

I disapprove of the bells. I don't like the bells in Parodius, either. Makes playing the games annoying, so I always completely ignore the bells and try like hell not to shoot them otherwise they NEVER get their ass off the screen.

Fantasy Zone destroys Twin Bee. Which game came first?

Twin Bee. But it's like Final Fight came before Streets of Rage.

Read the article, it has the better history behind it than Fantasy Zone does, better games on the whole for the series, as well, for me anyway.

I did read the article, but I still like Fantasy Zone better.

Twinbee and Parodius have always been favorites of mine because of the bells. My personal favorite in the series is "Detana Twinbee!", btw. I just wished the Saturn/PS deluxe pack supported TATE mode because playing TATE mode on the PSP sucks.

No TV that I have ever encountered appreciates being tilted onto its side.

the only twinbee games I have ever played were the first one for the famicom and the deluxe pack for sega saturn. I enjoyed the deluxe pack and thought it was well worth the $15 I bought it for.

edit: I also just watched a couple episodes of the twinbee anime on youtube and its pretty good.

I read the Twinbee´s article in Hardcoregaming 101.

And the series is my favorite.

I played the games in emulators and i like it because the fun factor and the character design ressembles the 1980´s anime style.

In Youtube has a few chapters os OVA series based in game named Twinbee paradise, but i didn´t find subtitled versions.
