Genesis Sega Genesis Model 1 Stereo AV Cables on eBay

This seems too good to be true. I was browsing eBay earlier today when this caught my attention:

I highly doubt that the cable works without modding the console. Any thoughts?

If it's hand made, then they may have just taken the mono out from the port and split it to the RCAs. Kinda like getting one of these:

    Attachment 8951

    for the FL NES consoles.

It would be "dual" mono. IE both audio points are the same. If it was true stereo with no mods of the console it would have the headphone jack.

They carefully state "For two speakers" nothing on Stereo.

I would be leery. They could be selling PC Engine Duo cables, which looks very similar to US Model 1 cables, except the Right Audio Channel for the Duo maps to 5V on the Genesis so you get a nice bzzzzzzzz going instead.

In the olden days I would make them the same for the shop I was doing repairs/mods for. Grab 2 din 5 plug (since that is all that is needed for composhit), grab a 3m av cable snip it in half, solder what needs to be soldered to make 2 av cables. Then of course China started mass producing them for cheaper than i could make them for.

Yep, like mostly everyone said so far, it's a bullshit cable that does dual Mono. It is absolutely impossible to get Stereo sound out of a stock Genesis Model 1 without going through the headphone output, in which case an extra cable with a 3.5mm plug would be sticking out of the 8-pin DIN to feed the Stereo sound through the cable.
