Outrun is lots of fun still. So are Road Rash I and II. I tend not to like modern, realistic racers (I crash too much) but the best games from the 16 bit era still give me joy.

I really enjoyed Super Monaco GP and Super Hang On back in the day as well as Jaguar XJ220. These days I don't play that many racing games anymore but I do enjoy the odd session of Mario Kart on 3DS and I enjoyed the 2012 Need For Speed: Most Wanted game.

Of course I must also mention Outrun as it was and still is a fantastic and fun game to play.
