I can still contribute.
Thank you for donating to the Sega 16 bit manuals!
It's because ebay requires tracking anymore for shipping outside of the US if you want seller protection, and also, having to take time out to travel down to the post office eats up time, energy, and gas cost. It makes sellers who want to run streamlined not want to bother. I'm a regular seller on ebay, and other then today to go drop off a package going to a friend in Canada, I have not had to personally go to a local USPS office since last November or so because I don't sell internationally anymore, due in part to heavy fraud in my past experience for myself and others I know (mainly fake buyers coming out of Russia, South America and Italy, but it happens elsewhere too, even locally). But the main reason is because of the time involved to ship internationally.
I pay for shipping at home and schedule pick ups here once or twice a week. Ebay does offer some new service now, I am not sure if it is available to every seller though. It's where if you want to allow overseas customers but don't want to have to deal with the shipping part of it, ebay can act as a go between/forwarding service like Tenso.
I don't know if it cost extra on the buyers part to do though, as I am not taking part in that program yet and have not looked into it enough. As stated prior though, if you guys can come up with the total amount, plus however much it would be to ship it to the desired person you want the manual to go to, I can act as a go between on this. If you want it scanned in advance and have the scans sent to the donors, I can do that too. I can't do something like this too often though, because of the time involved, so don't consider the offer to be always open/available any time this comes up. Just consider it a one shot deal.
I can understand all that, I do not hold it against you guys![]()
Americans are lucky in that they have a big local market so they can afford to only ship local and get rid of the hassle of international shipping. I sell plenty on ebay too and I have to offer international shipping or I would barely sell anything. Canada is a pretty small market with 10 times less people than USA. Plus, shipping fees here are pretty high so I have to sell low. Recently Canada post started forcing us to find a code for items and write those on the package. Talk about a hassle, suppose I sell a music CD, I have to go on Canada Post site and search their database for the code for music CD and then write that on the package.
On the bright side I live 2 min from the Post office[/whining]
Ill send PM about the manual.
I'm still in for the $10. Wish I could do more it's just bad timing.
Ok people. I have made arrangements to purchase the Manual. So far all the fees are assumed by me.
Once I receive the manual I will start a fund raiser. I am looking to recover at least 50% of my investment.
When I have received sufficient fund ( I expect this will be in the 60-70$ range) I will release the manual.
Sorry to be holding it hostage, I really want this released for the community but on the other end I do not want to assume all the cost myself.
Considering the amount is not too big I hope this should be doable. I accept the risk anyway.
If you want to donate to the fund raiser just PM me but you might want to wait until I have the manual just in case.
Rest assured that you can trust me with your donations.
I will report here once I have the manual![]()
Good work! I'll pitch in with a little bit.
Already have some donation come in. Unless contributors ask to be anonymous I can make a list of all those who contributed in the end.
Btw I wonder If this might contain data about the 315-5700, hmmm.
I'll chip in.
Donations so far : 37.28 USD thank you guys![]()
Just donated to the cause so it should be a bit higher now.
Donations so far 57.28 USD!
What do we need before it's released? plus I'm sure you're still waiting on it to arrive.
