So...that settles things finely. MGS1 was the best game on the Playstation 1.

    Is this poll asking

    1. Which do you personally like better, Sega Saturn or Sony PlayStation?

    or

    2. Which console do you think is better overall, objectively speaking?

Doesn't matter, the answer to both should be the PlayStation.

Sure, I make extreme statements. But not as facts. The times when I have are always when that seems to be the only thing that gets through to you.
    blah.
No use argueing any further, since we seem to see our own and each others behaviour very differently.

Only because of Final Fantasy VII. For me Tekken 3 and SF2 alpha are dead tied. Those are my priorities.

This thread is pure gold. People claiming Shining Force has a deeper story than FFT. People dissing high profile Playstation games, but listing garbage like Blazing Heroes as one of their favorites.

    Comedy to the extreme.

Posts like that are pure gold as well. I claimed that FFT had a nonsensical story and Shining Force has a deeper story than might at first be readily apparent. If developers had wanted FFT to have a deep story, they might have cleaned the game up a little.

Secondly, you are implying that high profile Playstation games are immune to reasoned criticism. They are not. If you give me an example of what kind of 'worthless' criticism of a high profile game, probably you're refering to one of my earlier posts anyway, is, then I'd be happy to clarify for you.

As for Blazing Heroes... I don't remember claiming that it's one of my favorites, although I suppose I might have. I'm also too lazy to check. Please tell me if I did. I can clarify that too.

Haha, you're so full of yourself to assume every point I made was about you. The Shining Force thing, yes. You can imagine all the little hidden meanings in Shining Force to your hearts desire. And place its script next to Shakespeare. I'm very happy you live in such a world. The rest of us will continue to see it as a game with a very shallow story. Not a bad story, but a very basic one.

I never said Final Fantasy Tactics has a good story, but to compare its deepness with Shining Force? Freakin' Shining Force. No. Just no. LOL.

As for the rest - someone claimed that Final Fantasy 7 and 8 were worthless to them, but listed Blazing Heroes as one of their Saturn favs. And that's fine; they are allowed to enjoy their 2fps mess with a story written by retarded giraffes.

Not really. I haven't looked at this thread in a long time, and I knew that I made a lot of argumentitive points in favor of the Saturn, argued the credibility of numerous Playstation titles and what not. It's not that far of a stretch for me to assume that you're picking up on at least one or two of my points.

As for Shining Force; you're right. I can fill in the logical blanks in the story. If the best you can come up with is; 'you're imagining hidden meanings while the rest of us see a shallow story' then you get to try again. If you're going to discredit my opinion, please at least do so strongly.

And then FFT. I don't think that Shining Force itself has a greater story than FFT. But I do think, taken with the rest of the cohesive Shining universe, that Shining Force wins. Incidentally, have you played Shining Force 3 or Shining the Holy Ark? Two Shining games that have better, and deeper stories, than FFT.

And as for your last point; thanks for clearing that up for me. While I wouldn't know about any retarded giraffes, nor is BH one of my favorite games, I would agree that Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are largely worthless.

This doesn't really have anything to do with Saturn vs Playstation, but Shining Force 1 and 2 are pure awesome. Shining Force 3 not-so-much... mostly because it is running in 3D (which inhibits the gameplay in a game like this) and loads, both making the game much slower-paced. Final Fantasy Tactics never appealed to me, but it looks much too involved... not in story, but in gameplay. I'm not a big fan of endless statistics.
