This Ken Kid famiclone by Kenga was a recent purchase of mine on eBay for $9.00 + 12.00 shipping, surprisingly no one tried to outbid me. It came complete as you see and impressed me. The story is that I bought both the Retron 1 by Hyperkin, and this chinese clone around the same time, and in turn they both arrived on the same day. Now, the reason I'm impressed is because this clone is actually very good quality. The compatibility is great and the sound/color accuracy is fantastic. Much better than the Retron, it also feels more sturdy and doesn't have smelly cheap paint on it. It takes Genesis/Atari controllers instead of standard NES ones, and the Genesis extension cord that I had really helped boost the rather short cord without any problems. It has played every game I have thrown at it exceedingly well, includng Battletoads which has a reputation for crashing. I am using a third party NES-to-FC adapter to play US games, as it takes Famicom cartridges by default. The two extra buttons on the controller are turbo for A and B respectively. My only concern is about it breaking down from being overused, and/or the NES adapter possibly bending the pins too far (as the pcb is slightly thicker than the cartridge ones) simply because I don't have that many affordable and reliable options to play my NES games! Let me know what you think.
The Retron 1 is still a good alternative. When played on a CRT I noticed the inaccuracies right away, but strangely, when played on an LCD widescreen TV, I didn't have that problem. I play it in 4:3 ratio setting which is available on my Samsung. I still enjoy it and will be keeping it as a backup but mostly will be playing the Ken Kid.
