I've been wondering about the quality of those repro carts. There is a ton of these Chinese reproduction carts popping on ebay! And I've noticed Japanese sellers have begun selling these repro carts as well. If the chip board of the repro board is too thick, have you considered using a compatiable passthrough device in order to avoid damaging your Mega Drive's cartridge slot?

I think it's a good thing.
You never know when you may need some dough, and you can sell your games to get by.
I sold E.v.O. for snes the other day for $150 on ebay.
Yes there are folks out there paying those prices.
And when MUSHA rises, my Gun-Nac goes up as well.
I also collect vintage GI Joes and there is a huge problem of people making and selling fakes as the real thing once the value gets above $100 or so. Some of the smaller accessories are very rare and go for $40 alone, but are very easy to reproduce through molding/casting. Some people can't even tell the real parts from the fakes when directly comparing.
Right now, I'd say it's not too difficult to make a repro CIB MUSHA that is good enough to pass for the real thing by having cover insert, label, and manual professionally printed and cut and burning the game to an eprom. Genesis games were cheaply produced using generic means so there is no real manufacturing step that is difficult to reproduce (or find a donor for). Most people who buy MUSHA only buy one copy so they never have the chance to compare copies to see if theirs is real.
Of course, if the repro has an eprom inside, then it is as simple as opening the cart and checking (if the chip has a little window in it, it's an eprom and not a maskrom). But I suppose somebody could just find a junk MUSHA cart and keep the board but reproduce everything else.
This is problematic for people who collect games with an eye for selling them for profit later on. If the market is flooded with fakes that are difficult to tell apart from the real thing, then prices will drop significantly. This has happened big time in the Star Wars toy collecting community because the accessories are so simple and easy to reproduce.
I hope this bubble will burst ! Too insane these prices... same for Turtless Hyperstone... as a kid i sold it sadly. Want it back but damn. 60 euro's !
I just bought a MUSHA repro for like 12$. Original is to expensive.

Tbh it is the first time I buy repros. The seller has several nice megadrive shmup repros. I was looking for gley lancer but when I saw them prices I grabbed six of em to save shipping.
At this price point, even if the label is ghetto I will forgive.

Those are pretty sweet! I'll have to figure out a non-invasive way to play them on my Genesis setup. I wonder if a Mega Drive cart would fit in a NTSC 32X cartridge slot...

Supposedly there are two slightly different iterations of the 32X, one of which allows to fit a Megadrives cart without cutting out plastic. I will soon find out which one I have![]()

Mine is the MK-84000A, will soon find out if that is true.
It's still a tight fit in the "A". It's only a couple millimeters wider.
