retro gaming stores rip you off anyway!
they're more than happy (gamestation in the UK) to charge £5 for an unboxed comman as cow shit megadrive cart-because that's all that they have.

sometimes they'll have a really nice bundle- last month or so my local one had a master system plus bundle, unboxed with the gun and glasses and some unboxed common games for £60!!

regards the 'rare' european snes comment- since when?
i find the snes only sell for a lot because you usually get complete collections with many games and accessories- most megadrives are sold seperately

Hell, I went to a Flea Market today and I seen that one vendor had about 3 Model 1 Genesis systems that say High Definition Graphics or whatever. I didn't ask the price though, I am happy with my model 2. When I was at this other vendor he kept trying to sell me the stupid Bevis & Buthead game for the Genesis. He said, "come on you should buy this, it is a very rare game." I was thinking are you a moron? I think he had $15 on it. I did buy Thunder Force III there for $5 complete, is that a good price?

    Geez,
I really can't imagine dealing with prices from your local shops.

My local semi-independent store (it's a chain, but not a franchise) charges based on the game.
So you can pay $5 for a complete copy of Stimpy's Invention, or $30 for a copy of Ultimate Qix.

$7 for Civilization II on PS1, to $37 for a complete mint copy of Parasite Eve.

Around here, prices are usually much more reasonable than many used game stores out there.

I comb my local thrift stores at least twice a week. So far I found Toe Jam and Earl, Secret of Mana, a real Famicom, a pal Sms oddly enough, and all three copies of the aweful Zelda Cd-I games along with the Cd-i and way to much to list. We have a decent used store here but often they use ebay to price thier games which always means over priced garbage. I stick to yard sales and thrift stores

Thats what I usually do. I can't stand EB. (Gamestop) Eveything there is over priced and it is a total ripoff to sell them a game.
