Question, in Sonic & Knuckles while battling against Mecha Sonic why does Sonics stats in the upper left change color? When Mecha Sonic is blueish so are the letters, when it changes to Super Mecha Sonic the colors of Sonics status also turn orange/yellow.

    They're using the same palette.

For the record, it's a hack. It doesn't usually look like that.

Ah, yeah I see that now. Meh, i've owned Sonic and Knuckles complete for years and have never played it, guess I shoulda known the video was a special hacked version, SEGA wouldn't have put out such a buggy Sonic game [the pallette switching with the status lettering]

The waves in Bimini Run are animated quite well, but still animation. The boats and other objects are all animations as well if I recall.

Bimini Run is a very interesting title on the SEGA Genesis. For a game on a 16-bit system, it must have been a big undertaking to design this game. The boats and islands seem to be animated frames. But what about are the islands? For example: As your boat approaches an island in the distance, the island gets bigger and bigger. Well animated frames as well andtimed in such a way to give the perspective of distance? Or does it also incorporate some aspect of scaling as well?

James Pond 3 has some nice visual effects during the introduction : scaling on James* + the Star Wars-like way of scroll for the plot text a bit later, text which comes in real transparency* as well as a gradual change of colors* + a mosaic effect on the title at the title screen.

    * (those effects are lacking on the SNES version (-> lol?))

Haven't really played the game yet apart for a few minutes but i already enjoyed it & it's among my (always long list of) next targets to play.

This scene is very well done, Pond scale and rotate simultaneously, rare in the Genesis.
