Actual conversation I just had with two guys at work.

Me: "Well, however the new Sonic movie turns out at least it'll be better than the Super Mario Bros movie!"

Guy 1: "Hey! I really like that film!"

Guy 2: "Yeah. I think it's actually a pretty good movie."

Me: "OK..." (walks away)

I didn't think Super Mario Bros was that bad; It was almost your classic 80's crappy VHS rental movie that was so bad, it was enjoyable. Street Fighter the movie was bad, really bad and speaking of which one couldn't get much worse than House of the Dead the film

Yes but Street Fighter The Movie had Raul Julia cast as M. Bison. That automatically elevates it into being pretty fucking awesome, regardless of everything else.

It's a shame because Jean-Claude Van and Kylie were perfectly cast in that film and really looked the part, but the film was dire. Still nothing to the level of House of the Dead movie

The worst videogame movie I ever saw was Alone in the Dark II. It's absurdly bad, IMO even worse than House of the Dead. And I am 100% sure Sonic will surpass it in its awfulness.

I'm not exactly getting my hopes up too much over the Sonic movie, but I'm still almost certain it will still be better than all other video game based movies of the last 30yrs. With the only saving graces being Street Fighter The Movie, for the aforementioned reason, and the original Mortal Kombat movie.

I've never seen that. Alone in the Dark was bad enough. House of the Dead was worse mind.

It depends. I grew up with the VHS early 80's rental era. Where you would watch and enjoy some of the crappiest films ever made and almost look forward to the next classic B-Movie. I quite enjoyed The Stuff, Troll, The video dead, superstition (the witch) Howard the Duck, Ninja Turtles (the 1st one) Neon Maniacs, Hawk the Slayer, The Sword and the Sorcerer, Deathstalker, Class of 1999, Eliminators and so so many more classic bad 80/90 films. I didn't find Mario Bros that bad tbh

It seemed to me the more the film got panned in the press, the more I enjoyed it as was the case with films like Krull, Evil Dead II , Day of the Dead, Nightbreed Ect.
If the team can put in plenty of fast actions sequences with plenty of sweeping camera angles and nice effects (art direction, may be a different matter) and use the talent of Jim Carrey to his fullest. I don't see it being a bad pop corn flick.

Street Fight was so terrible it was actually good. I know I saw the Mario Brothers movie but I have absolutely no recollection of it. Sonic does look bad and I hate when they make these movies then litter them with a shit ton of humans. This is one thing that made Bayformers so bad.

I still think SSF2 is pretty legit smae for Double Dragon and I actually cared for the SMB movie. Nothing is as bad as that Last Resident Evil movie. It was cringeworthy beyond belief. Haven't seen much else video game wise
