Powerslave > Duke 3D & Quake
The PC version is nowhere nearly as impressive, but it's still a fun game.
As for me, I bought some new Sony Bookshelf speakers... yes I settled for store speakers, but eh... they are fine for what I do.

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

But *how* is it better? I just don't get it. How can Powerslave have anywhere near the humor and pizazz of Duke? Oh well...
I'll admit that Quake isn't that fun. It's too slow and the controls just don't work for a game that requires so much looking around. The Jevon Control Mode (Turok, basically) almost cuts it but they set the analog thumbstick far, far too sensitive. Now QuakeDC, esp the Special Edition? That rocks like crazy, and I advise ANYONE who likes Quake to get that thing downloaded, patched up to the registered version, and in your DC. Awesome stuff!
That's a toughie... but when you play it, you'll understand.

Duke is all about the attitude, and it grew tiring after about 6 seconds. PowerSlave is about gameplay.

I really enjoyed the gameplay of the first game, but it had no story. Whatsoever. None. So I didn't really play much. But from what I understand, this one has the gameplay of the first with an actual story.
I just acquired the original guide to Amiga Basic, copyright 1985.

Does the PSP output in progressive scan? I know it doesn't even have the resolution of the PS2's most basic mode. Is it just in a little box on the screen, or scaled?
Yes, it says so on the back of the package. Games can only be displayed on screen with the component cables using progressive scan, so if you buy the composite cables, you won't get any kind of picture when playing games. The games are displayed in a window box and movies are scaled to fill the screen.Originally Posted by Joe Redifer

PSP is the BEST for movies. Nothing does movies better. Well, maybe VHS is better.
Since this apparently counts for DVDs as well:
Darkman Trilogy (Walmart for THRITEEN DOLLARS!)
Face/Off Collectors Edition
Sega CDX
Currently Reviewing: Editing/Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective
On Deck: Night Trap
Next Purchase: Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?
Exactly. Who the heck buys those stupid UMD movies anyway? Hopefully Sony will release a firmware update in the future that allows for games to be scaled to fit the screen.Originally Posted by Joe Redifer
