Japanese version, european version? pah, I got the russian bootleg
The reason for asking that is because I felt Alien Soldier was a lot like a fighting game, which I said before. Well I still think you should finish itMost of the bosses are very well designed and it's usually possible to stay alive by making their bullets, spawn or whatever into health, then using the charge move to dodge them until you figure them out.
This thing costs a fortune on ebay, what a nightmare for the collector who at some stage wants everything, ie me!! Damn this is going to test my desire, it looks amazing though.
I bought the PAL version of this game recently. I haven't played it that much yet, but I guess I have to learn it and finish it, since it was very expensive. haha...
The difficulty of this game might be intimidating, but the design (visuals, animations, audio) is absolutely superb!
This is humorous - Alien_Soldier has never beaten Alien Soldier.
Hey everybody, I need help with my copy of the Alien Soldier cart.
I bought a PAL version, and the seller said that it was all complete and original. However I suspect that at least the booklet is fake; some kind of copy. It is not even a proper booklet with glossy paper, it is some kind of fold out of "regular" (not glossy) paper, printed in shades of blue color only.
Could someone help me and out and determine if this is a fake or not? I would appreciate it.
I tried to take some pictures of it, the pics are a bit blurry, but here goes:

Is it possible that the box and cart also are fakes?

That one has a black and white manual... But I'm no PAL master, so I'll wait for the Euros to find this thread.
Haha, yes, I admit, this is really, really bad! I will have work hard to beat this game now, I guess!Originally Posted by Genesis Knight
Yes, that booklet looks similar to the japanese versions that I have seen on Ebay. There are a couple for sale there now. The Japanese ones have a front page in full color, though.Originally Posted by Genesis Knight

I think you probably have the Australian version of the game. I know that Master System games often have different fold out manuals in Australia, so it wouldnt be surprising for megadrive manuals to be the same.
The difference is that the JAP on is vertically oriented and the others are horizontal.
Actually, that Australian = Blue Foldout rings a bell now.
Interesting. Does anyone happen to know if there are pictures of these fold-out manuals somewhere online?
Or if anyone here owns such a game + manual, maybe you could post a photo of it? That would be great!
Just had a quick look on Australian ebay, theres loads with fold out manuals. Sega didn't distribute stuff themselves in Austalia, but a company called Ozisoft did, they also manufactured the games there. They didnt need multi-lingual manuals so they ditched the other languages and made them fold out for ease of production..

Ah, looks like the same kind of printing as my Alien Solider manual. Maybe that is the answer then.
Thanks a lot for the link, playgen! I did a quick search on the US Ebay and found nothing, I didn't know Australia had a separate division of Ebay.
Several games are more common in Australia, so a lot of people look on Australian ebay to buy games to resell in other countries, since the games are PAL theres no compatability issues in Europe.
Most countries have their own ebay site, you find much more stuff by seraching each one, as not everything is listed on ebay.com
