    Hello, retrogaming fans!

Here's the latest news from Super Fighter Team:

As you know, we've been putting our back catalog into production again, based on popular demand. Though this has made many people happy, we're also getting a lot of "what's next?" e-mails. OK, so it seems it's time for some vague answers to that question:

1). Were you with us in France way back in 2010 when we mentioned, at the Retro-gaming Connexion event, that we were working on a platform (aka jump 'n' run) game for the Genesis / Mega Drive? Well that title sort of went into hibernation for a while but now it's back in development. So get psyched for future details.

2). Our new & improved, Windows version of the fighting game Tough Guy is nearing completion. And it's going to be released as a FREE download! Hooray!!

3). We're working on a new RPG for the NES, too. Cool, huh? Tell your friends.

    Also...

Did you pre-order BEGGAR PRINCE for the Genesis / Mega Drive, and are wondering if it's indeed going to be released this year, as promised? Well we're happy to tell you that: yes, it is. We've never missed a deadline, and don't plan to start now. Thanks for your patience, we assure you it'll be rewarded with a fine product.

Check out CASCADE and MAGIC GIRL for the Genesis / Mega Drive; you'll love 'em! -->
    www.playcascade.com and www.magicgirlgame.com

    ...and finally...

Rabid Atari Lynx fans unite!! Keep those e-mails coming in about Zaku, our super-charged shooter, and we may just put it back into production.

    ---

Super Fighter Team: Since 2004, we've been living our dream of producing new, high-quality games for classic game systems. With your support we've been able to launch nine successful commercial products, and release four games as free downloads. And we'll keep going for as long as we can.

Thank you for joining us on our adventure.

Wouldn't the unnamed platformer be Majikana?

I'm stoked to finally get my copy of Beggar Prince for a reasonable amount.

Probably. If so, it makes me wonder what the original 2010 platform game looked and played like. If anything, it would be interesting to see if any preliminary work was done (sketches/designs/artwork etc.).

Although not mentioned in the email, I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of Legend of Wukong for a reasonable price as well!

^Yeah. I know you've mentioned it before. A lot of people hate on Legend of Wukong. But I gotta say if you liked the original Dragon Warrior on the NES, you're going to enjoy it. Plus, it's really funny.

Yeah, Wukong is really the game I'm the most interested in getting a re-release. Majikana looks really worthwhile as well, I just hope that it gets published/produced in a reasonable time. If I wanted to wait forever for a new game I'd buy more "gems" to get a game with Watermelon.

Looks like just another Repro release of the game because:

Spectrum Holobyte assets are owned by either Tommo and Atari SA. (they have made a deal recently).
And Millenium was sold of to SCEE
Teque was part of Kristalis and then dismantled and the game assets where bought up by employees.

So I think it is just another repro cart.

Yeah you're right it's a repro, sorta... (I did the packaging design, the original artwork + full color manual for it) It's an unreleased game and it's getting released.
Also the first post says "I thought all game releases, even translations, re-releases and cancelled games dug up should have a list. So I made one".
So I guess it's ok. or not?

p.s. BTW according to my knowledge Spectrum Holobyte never owned any game assets or rights, only plans for publishing the series. Though SCE or Guerrilla Cambridge (formerly SCE Cambridge Studio) might own some of the assets.

The artwork is impressive actually, why not work with homebrew developers that need original artwork?

Well it all depends, without having the original contract or talking to someone that worked on it, we can't know who ended up with the rights. I'm not used of tracking the rights of games with 3 companies involved, usually is dev+publisher.

Thank you very much, appreciate that a lot! Actually Beastball is a second one that went public; The first one was M.U.S.H.A - Remastered (also a repro but again turbo charged with goodies) I didn't post it for obvious reasons(the game was officially licensed back in the day) but The Beastball is a different story I think.

Mostly because it's an expensive and time consuming process if you know what I mean and most of the time people want it for free, don't get me wrong I woulda do it, but then again devs tend to hate to be Art Directed on their own project so it's kinda complicated.) on the other hand I'm working on one of the homebrews's atm and also a hack.
Basically it all depends weather I like the game or not(it should be fun to work on)
