Default Green interference lines with AV cables (PICTURE)

On the right side of my screen. Sometimes I'm able to eliminate them if I take the cables out and put them back in. Sometimes they distort on their own. Usually it's 3 thin green lines, but sometimes less.

They do not appear when using the RF switch from what I've seen.

They are not really seen during gameplay (covered but actual game screen) but at startup.

    Anyone ever experienced this?

Doesn't really bother me but I just want to make sure it's the cables not the system. I got the cables off Ebay, made in Asia lol pretty low quality.

Can you guys recommend good quality AV cable or is it better to make my own?

    Thanks a mil playas

    can you take a picture?

the cables aren't RGB, so it shouldn't be just one color.. usually luma in the composite video's enconding will get the most effect from bad shielding, which would yield lines that are "darker", or "brighter", but not a certain color... (RF can be a certain color).. it could happen, but I need to see a pic first..

is this a model 2 Genny? if so, then it's either the cable, or the TV, as the RF switch takes the AV signals and converts those..

HDTVs, CRT or LCD (including regular SDTV LCDs), seem to get more interference than normal...

    can you get a picture?

This is the best I can do. Believe it or not it only shows up in one mode on my camera. The others don't pick it up.

This is in 4:3 mode. On a normal TV it would be all the way to the right. Notice how the line isn't solid. Sometimes it distorts depending on what's on the screen.

ah ha! That's the scaler on the TV... the scaler on the TV doesn't expect the signal to end so quickly on the horizontal pixels (as it's for TV, not video games), thus it shows a bit of an artifact..

that's not interfearance at all.. I have a 4:3 shaped HDTV, and don't see it, but if I make the H-Size smaller, I can...

yep, that's all TV.. you see, an LCD can't show the Genesis stuff natively, so it needs a scaler.. those green lines are artifacts from the scaling...
