Thanks for these great comments! For all 3D effects, i used Photoshop and Motion 5. I am not a 3D artist or modeler or whatever it is called, i just fiddle around with the apps and that is what came out of it!

These early games in the snes lifespan tend to be forgotten by many. There has been a lot of top-notch games in the second half of the super nintendo lifespan, games like the Donkey Kong Country series for exemple. People remember the great games and forget the good games or sometime just toss em aside because the graphics look outdated.

And about the sword, i think that what's even worst than how you handle it to defeat monster is how it looks. We don't imagine a knight or a warrior with a dagger, it would look stupid. But for the gameplay mechanics i think it just works well.

I googled this Cesaro guy, sorry i dont watch wrestling, last time i watched a wrestling show, Brett the Hitman Hart was a champion! Well i see what you mean, i have some ressembling traits but what looks even more like me is all the muscles he has.

Yeah... I wish it was true!

Then years later they become "hidden gems."

Hey, nice to see someone else see it like this too!

People that complain about issues like this usually don't understand game design. In this case, I'm pretty sure the game was balanced & tested entirely around the short sword. And if not, became shorter are of a result of all the balancing and testing. But folks like to complain about every little thing they don't understand, like it's their job as a critic? Only issue with this is how mostly wrong they are...

Well put, midnightrider. Really seems like this is how it is.

Seems like during the early half of the 16-Bit era, dev's imagination as to what they now could do with 16-Bit hardware soared. But once they got too comfy with it and it became the norm, all of a sudden creativity & imagination took a nosedive too...

Even graphics from the early era impress me very much too.

The happy middle ground for both 16-Bit consoles might be the year 1993?
