Monster World 4 is nothing like a metroidvania, that's a sidescrolling action-rpg. I'm talking a full blown map that limits you to certain areas until you find items that allow you access to other parts of the map.

I want a horror side scrolling platform metroidvania kinda thing.
With like, a giant deserted space station. and there are monsters around and you gotta survive and find weapons and keys and stuff.
Something like a mix between the following.
Project Firestart on the C64, space station overrun with hostile alien thingies, lotsa gore.
Aliens Infestation on Nintendo DS, great game that features a Metroid like experience but with space marines.
Or ya know, program a sweet Formula 1 racing game and license Max Verstappen's likeness or something.
Brazil loves him after today, make a deal with him and TecToy!
After seeing the Nintendo Classic, I'd love to see Sega either licence, or publish themselves, a throwback Genesis v.1 with HD support, and SD card, and slew of games on it. Toss 4 controller ports and some wireless 6-button controllers, and I think That would be a perfect "Genesis Classic" package.
In my opinion, only few Sega CD games took advantage of the system capabilities.
I would like to see remastered classics (SOR, GAxe, Ghouls&Ghost) and new ones as well, like Action Adventure RPGs.
In general, more Sega CD content.
Lots of Metroid and shooter fans here. Me, I'd wish for turn-based strategy ala Advance Wars, and some good RPGs.
Frankly, and this is just dream, I'd love to see Sega make a neptune. Have it play Genesis/32x/master sytem games, and allow for homebrew via an sd card. I'd die.
Count me in for a Neptune CDX.
Sadly, there's no money on mobiles anymore, with everyone expecting 0.99$ for a complete game, publishers backfiring by including ads and IAP, and gamers responding by buying even less. For example, Rovio made most of their money by selling merch, the games were a tiny amount in comparison.
AW: DS did show the touch screen is useful, but the GBA versions weren't bad to play in any way.

Every so often you do see the odd gem slip through the cracks at a reasonable price, I picked up the iOS version of Civ Revolution 2, pretty decent game tbh.
This. For the life of me, I can't think of a reason why we never had a Streets of Rage CD (not just a remaster/remake, but a nice looking SoR4 with red book audio and tons of content). Even a SoR 32x, for Saturn or DreamcastProbably because the industry turned to 1 vs 1 fighters, and 3D games, so a 2D beat'em up franchise became extinct.
I would like to see translations of all the Genesis and Sega CD games we didn't get in the West. By and large North America received the vast majority of the Genesis' output but the Sega CD has a ton of games I would love to play in English.
