Default Genesis Live Arcade: Month 1

After months and months of rumors and speculation, Sega finally announced its support of Xbox Live Arcade last week at E3. While the initial offerings are slim (only two games), the mere fact that we'll now be getting plenty of Genesis goodness on our Xbox 360s is reason enough for Segaphiles to be happy. We're celebrating the news with a brand new article series. Genesis Live Arcade will serve as a sister article to our current Genesis Virtual Console series and will continue to bring our hands-on recommendations about the newest games each month as they're released. We kick things off with a report on the first two games available: Golden Axe (arcade) and Sonic The Hedgehog. Read the full article and see if these two are worth your Microsoft points!

I'm glad they're doing this, but I don't give a rat's ass about emulated Genesis games. Give us more arcade games!!! It's Xbox Live Arcade not Xbox Live Console. Put all the Genesis games on there you want, just as long as the arcade titles make it.

I demand and expect the ARCADE VERSIONS of:

    -Shinobi
    -Super Hang-on
    -E-SWAT
    -Shadow Dancer (hell, why not?)
-Thunder Blade (if they choose the Genesis version over this, I will bust a nut)
    -Galaxy Force
    -Turbo Out Run
    -Choplifter
    -Altered Beast
-Sonic the Hedgehog (yes, the isometric version)
-Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (also isometric, though not a priority)
-Crackdown (the Sega version destroys the gay Xbox 360 version)
    -Star Wars Arcade
    -Cool Riders
    -Daytona 2
    -Alien Storm
    -Alien Syndrome
    -Quartet
    -SDI / Global Defense
    -Enduro Racer
    -Zaxxon
    -Space Harrier
    -After Burner
    -Hang-On
    -Fantasy Zone

    and more.

That's more than $110 from me alone, Sega. More than $110 for games that are already made. And I won't be the only one buying the stuff. Think of all the money you'll have to line your pockets with. You'll finally be able to get that Camaro that your mid-life crisis is demanding. CAMARO! You're an executive. You deserve it. Do it. Now.

Maybe old Sega players will buy the 360 instead of Wii now. But I won't buy any of them.

I don't even use Live! and i'd love an arcade version of "Turbo Outrun" on there.

Do you have to be signed on to play Live! games?

No. You need a free Silver account to download the games. Then be sure to go into the options and turn notices off or something like that otherwise anytime you do anything, something pops up onscreen telling you that you've unlocked an achievement, as if we actually care. It's distracting and only appeals to those lame kiddies who watch MTV or VH1 and like shit all over their screen and random moments. But you can play the game without dishing out the cash for Xbox Live. You just can't play online.

Only if they have arcade perfect "Turbo Outrun".

You hear that SEGA, *ARCADE PERFECT*.

You have denied me Turbo Outrun on Saturn...you didn't even release that crap Genesis version (i'm kinda thankful for that) in the US and you teased with 2006.

Time to step up and deliver!

I forget which is which, so they should put the arcade versions of BOTH games on Xbox Live Arcade.
