Konami's imminent exit from the video game business?

i don't enjoy touch controls so I never got into current mobile gaming. However I have a friend who loves this Cinderella jewel game and it boggles my mind that she can't just outright buy the game. No, she has to buy turns and spend money just to play it.

I saw an ex-gf's mom so devoted to farmville it was nothing to drop 2k a month on stuff for her house or whatever.

if that's the way Konami wants to go, fuck it let them. It may be profitable but I can't imagine what'll happen when the floor drops and this pay to play way of gaming goes away. (I hope....)

What's worse is people will spend all of that money on these games only for their servers to eventually be taken down. It's started happening already. You'd think this would be a major blow to people's trust in regards to the "freemium" model.

But people were stupid enough to buy into this kind of thing to begin with so I don't know.

I enjoyed Castlevania, Lords of Shadow. That's probably the most recent Konami game I've played though.

I agree. Maybe Minecraft is a bad example on my part. But I remember reading somewhere that Minecraft is a best selling mobile game.

It probably is, and it's probably a shitty massively cut down version you have to pay continuously to enjoy. Ah mobile gaming... how does anyone enjoy it I have no clue.

Yup, it kept her happy. after seeing that and what valve did to tf2 was enough to push me away from pay for play games. They simply aren't worth it.

None at all. her dad is very successful and that really didn't phase him much hahah nice people but it was crazy what the mom would spend.

All this talk of terrible mobile games makes me wonder just what Sega removed that was allegedly not up to their standards from the google play store. It's not like they have much of an image left to save, anyways.

I'm assuming some freemium games got canned. Their mobile ports of real games are actually some of the best games on Android.
