    Default Strafefox: great youtube channel

I don't often see anyone here mention this channel, but Strafefox does a wonderful job. The do a lot of retrospectives on specific games/series/consoles and give attention to things that deserve it. The videos aren't long, but they are nice bite sized chunks for when you have a few minutes. Production values are great too. Here's their latest:

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

I actually do seem to recall this channel being mentioned a time or 2 around here. I've had it bookmarked for a while, but I'm not one of the ones that brought it up.

The PCM chip of the megadrive

Could have chosen a game with better PCM to make this mistake

Yeah, I don't know how that slipped through. Especially when they did an episode on MD music.

Indeed, I saw it mentioned already as well.

I wanna love this guy's work, I really do. The one problem I have with this channel is that it's usually visuals over content - like the issue with the "PCM" where it should read FM mistake, but also because in an episode about the Genny's music he chose emulated material from various sources instead of just recording the stuff from a model 1 Genny or at least a decent recent emulator.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Strafefox is actually an online multi-media designer which is why his video work is exceptional. I actually tried to secure his talents but he wasn`t interested. You can check out his portfolio here: http://www.strafefox.nl/

I've been pimping Strafefox's videos around here since '13. I really enjoy his work so it seems you also have good taste.

He is a great source of inspiration for me, the way everything is artistically displayed with nice 3d effects and backdrops. I like it when Youtubers/artists try to make these old games come to life with effects and imagination. I know what Super Castlevania IV on the snes looks like, i love it, but in StrafeFox's review of the series he makes the game come to life with the talent he obviously has in video creation.

I really enjoy the channel, and his production values are insane.
