So yeah I'm a huge DQ fan have been one for years.

The two versions share the same scenario. On-field enemies on both versions, random battles on the 3DS version.





Day Freaking One Purchase.~

Really digging how it looks on the 3DS with the type different type of play screens and even more happy it's not an online RPG but a classic turn-based system.

I'm hoping this will be a return to classic DQ type gameplay which I've loved for so many years. I had 0 interest with a MMO Dragon Quest.

That's pretty neat with the 3DS version. The PS4 version looks nice too. It will be interesting to see how this impacts sales of both systems in Japan, as DQ is what made the DS take off in sales in Japan if I remember correctly.

At the end of the presentation, it was also revealed that development for Dragon Quest XI is also in consideration for Nintendo NX.

Yeah I forgot to mention the NX system in my original post. The Dragon Quest games for the Nintendo DS are made of pure awesome. It's great playing it on a DSi XL in it's native resolution. I kinda wish there was an analog controller for that version but it's a minor gripe at best.

Japan in general has a crazy huge DQ fanbase to the point that people would line up for days like it was a new Star Wars movie waiting for the release of the game.

SE later had a PR statement to the effect that Dragon Quest XI (and X) development on NX is "under consideration". Obviously, but they had to say that as NX hasn't even been announced yet.
