Maybe not for the OP, but I know people like this and knowing what games the genesis has to offer is a good thing.
Yes, it's the "action" console, doesn't mean that's all it has.
That's alright, it is for me more than enough to make up for not being for SlantedRain![]()
I guess my argument is that you shouldn't need to ask a forum full of Sega enthusiasts whether Sega is for you or not. It's a silly question. What it sparks is a collection of laundry lists of games this person will never play for this or that nonsensical reason. If the library of what is arguably the most important 4th generation console is simply "not for me" then that is a subjective view rather than an objective opinion of the range of genre's available on the system during its most impactful years. For every post in this thread I find 2 or more reasons to appreciate a library I already believed was bursting at the seams with quality software, yet among all the examples that were presented the OP wasn't able to elevate their opinion of the system and its library from the level of "arcade style" and "action console" status. It's as shortsighted and narrow-minded as you can be in regards to the offerings on the console.
I'm just surprised and honestly, somewhat taken aback, at the notion that after 5 pages of passionate fans listing game after game, there's even a remote question as to the level of quality available on the Genesis.
The system really isn't for you, and there's nothing wrong with that. I just don't think we needed 5 pages of reasons as to why that opinion is radically misinformed and myopic.
But yeah, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy III...
I mean, this thread was obviously troll bait... Where is the OP? They have all of 2 posts. They literally made a SN just to watch us spit out lists of games they wouldn't play...

Did you guy notice the OP left and not coming back?
Did you notice that nobody cares ?![]()
Well if the OP is hanging around all it takes is a cursory glance at the Mega Drive's vast library to know that the machine had literally something for everybody. Anybody who claims that the Mega Drive was only good for arcade ports hasn't spent any time actually playing it's games or doing any research at all. It's as sweeping a statement as if I suggested that the only thing that the last two generations of consoles were good for is FIFA and COD games.
