MBytes, not Mbits, and it seems to be 7Zipped.

I haven't downloaded the rom myself (even though I do have an SD2SNES), I only read what some of the first reviews said, which was also inconsistent. The stated size was always over 6000 megabits. Destructoid claims that it's 6320Mb.

Did honestly click on that link?

It's Mb, not MBytes. 7-Zip is only going to reduce the size of the file about 25-30% at best.

Unzipped would be about 600 Mb, which equals about 75 MB. It could fit on a CD over a half dozen times.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

It's megabytes, I don't know if it's written Mb or MB in English (it's Mo in French, easier to distinguish) and I don't care, but it sure isn't mbits as the OP said.

450 megabytes zipped is not inconsistant with more than 650 megabytes unzipped, so it wouldn't fit on a CD. But no, I didn't dl it, it takes more than 2 hours on my PC that I don't have.

You don't have to download the file. The size of it is written right on the name. It's Mb, not MB. Still, 650 MB will fit on a CD, but that point is moot, because the file is not even 76 MB.

It's written wrongly, it should be MB, Mega Bytes.
    It's 453 MBytes when 7zipped.

And, by the way, back in the days CD capacity was 500 MB, not 650 MB.

This whole shit would be impossible back in the days for several reasons already stated. Stop the nonsense, please.

The only thing I've seen that supports your 500 MB was the stated maximum size of Sega CD titles. Still, that was in 1991 and not in 1993-1994 when the Phillips CD might have come out.

Alright, I've downloaded the file. It only took 4 minutes on my 80 Gb internet connection. It is not 7zipped. It is a more advanced compression called Ultra 7zip. The file comes out to be @ 750 Mega Bytes in size. The size of the game program and video is 500 MB. The rest of the file is the 250 MB of PCM samples, with 120 PCM files total. That's where all of the space is being used and could be replaced with smaller PCM samples and CD audio.

I don't know if this article is reporting the file size correct, but I do know that the SD2SNES has a limited ROM size of 128Mb. Obviously, this would not work if this program is indeed 750 MB. http://www.destructoid.com/super-roa...t-228189.phtml
