Not sure if it was on your list as it's not mentioned a lot, but Digital Dance Mix would be a good one to bring up for the Saturn. Supposedly it's the product of researching the possibility of porting Virtua Fighter 3 to the system and was developed by AM2 to see how much detail and animation they could get out of a character model. It runs at 704x480 at 60fps.
She certainly has a lot of frames of animation. Like the same as that Ridge Racer girl during the PS2 tech demos
and she must be in Australia. Look at the orange sky. I know that sign says Santa Monica

I agree. It's one of the few games that also run at a smooth frame rate even in high res mode, i remember not willing to try it but i ended up finishing the whole game like this. And it looks much better than Indiana Jones, which isn't a great "tech demo" for the console anyway, IMO.
For the Saturn, how does Panzer Dragoon Zwei hold up? As eye candy it is nice to look at but I don't know what the technical side of things is like (FPS, poly counts, special effects etc...). It just sticks in my mind as one of the all round best looking games for the system.
I dont know. DDM is impressive. But you need that second character you mention, and also, a big part of Virtual Fighter 3 are the 3d enviroments. They are way more complex than anything seen on Saturn. And high rez fighting games had to resort to the VDP2 in order to achieve a (very cool) fake 3d effect for the enviroments. For VF3 on Saturn, i think they would have to ditch the high rez engine, and go for something similar to Fighters Megamix, which is said to be another proof of concept for VF3 on Saturn.
I love my Saturn though, and would love to see a VF3 proto that rivals Saturn Shenmue.
It was proof and far better since it had moves taken from the game ..and go for something similar to Fighters Megamix, which is said to be another proof of concept for VF3 on Saturn.
I have to say I've always loved the gfx and style of Die Hard Arcade really used the VDP 1 and II to get the best results on screen the texture mappping was stunning at the time

what is this topic?![]()
read the op?
I guess either there are lots of videoclips that don't show up or I'm getting crazy.![]()
It would have been just like Fighters Megamix imo: given that game had the quite a lot of VF3 moves in it and a really impressive engine. The talk of Digital Dance being used for VF 3 development was just press spin and started in one of the Saturn . mag's. Also in one of the few Interviews with Yu Suzuki on Saturn VF 3 he said the game would just have the feel of the coin up game.i think they would have to ditch the high rez engine, and go for something similar to Fighters Megamix, which is said to be another proof of concept for VF3 on Saturn.
I really would like to see what Sonic Adv looked like running on the Saturn given that the Sonic Jam 3D stage looked so amazing, and would love to see Waterworld on the Saturn too. Given that game was all but finished at those that saw it said it looked stunning and really used the VDP II
