Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I don't agree with that at all.

Sonic 2 Game Gear is pretty awful but the Master System version is pretty solid. Although really the SMS has no lack of decent platformers and doesn't need a cut down Sonic game to bolster that at all.

I swear, Sonic Blast was an unlicenced game developed by Russian pirates, discovered by Sega, and officially published. That game just fascinates me for some reason.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

Tails' Adventures is the best imo; first Sonic game being a very, very close second. Sonic 2 is the worst, I agree with Guilis on that. The MS version isn't bad, but it still is the weakest of the 8-bit games. I also quite like Sonic Drift 2 to some degree, I think that one gets too much hate - it really is pretty decent.

Sonic Drift 2 is good for the hardware, I just don't understand why it's a Game Gear game and not on the Megadrive.

I think it works great on the handheld. Street Racer, which I assume would be the closet thing to what a Mega Drive Sonic Drift would be like, was boring imo. I think it's best it stayed on the Game Gear.

Besides, people were moaning about Sonic & Knuckles when it dropped, as being too many. I'd hate to hear what they would of thought of a kart racer a few months later being released.

I chalked it up to a coincidence.

Afterwards, I read the Wiki entry for the game and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it! I knew I recognized that melody.
The real surprise is Sonic was first by a number of years! WTF. JJ plays Game Gear Sonic games?

Legacy of the Wizard, Sorcerian, Ys, Ys II, Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi III, Beyond Oasis, Super Adventure Island II, Eye of the Beholder(Sega CD), Legend of Oasis, Shenmue, Namco x Capcom, Etrian Odyssey, 7th Dragon, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Project X Zone 2...

Yeah, no reason to praise the guys music.

Also, this guy just recently went over the subject:

Hey, I'm not saying there's no reason. I'm saying I don't know of a reason. Now I can check out those soundtracks.

Not enough hands on time with the oddball games but I'd rank the main five as:

    Sonic The Hedgehog 2
    Sonic The Hedgehog
    Sonic The Hedgehog Triple Trouble
    Sonic The Hedgehog Chaos
    Sonic Blast

Blast is just terrible and Chaos is just boring and slow paced to me, especially with trying to get the emeralds.

I honestly can't get into the GG/SMS Sonic games. Out of the two I played in depth, I like Sonic Blast and don't like Sonic 2 GG. I owned Sonic 2 GG and hated how I couldn't get far in it. Sonic games weren't supposed to be hard. That's why the Genesis games were so successful. They were easy.
