Yeah, the ridiculous price for M.U.S.H.A. lose is one game I would maybe get a Mega-nesis EverDrive for and yes I may someday get one but as of right now I have what I have. I do not want/need the whole Sega Genesis library. The NES Contra, Super C, TMNT II w/ manual and SNES TMNT IV w/ manual I have owned for many years but I did get Contra: Hard Corps lose (one of the few games I put into a Konami keep case w/ reprint slipcover and I will make the manual for ~ 03-27-2016 Edit: Made the manual) a few years ago for I think for $30. Phantasy Star IV CIB x2 and Castlevania Bloodlines CIB x1 lose x1 I acquired from estate sales and sold on eBay... I just don't care for them.

Yep, though there are issues with a handful of games that use EEPROM saving. Most have been ironed out, but I don't remember if there's a hack for Rings of Power.
I used to be very gunshy about playing games that saved on the EverDrive, but I had no problems playing through Traysia that way.
I guess I prefer boxed as I play everything via Everdrive so I really buy my fave games only to look pretty on the shelf![]()
I'd be interested in learning how to make my own custom box protectors for the game boxes that don't have the usual size. No one sells those yet. Like for the Seaman and Alienfront Online boxes on the DC, or for the Lethal Enforcers boxes on the Genesis and SCD, etc.
Depends if I find it complete or not in the wild. If it's a game I really want, if it's loose I'll scoop it up. If it's boxed, and not overpriced, then by all means I'll pick it up that way if I find it that way.
You can play the Wii Virtual Console version of Monster World 4 on the Everdrive. Translation is pretty good, too. I just bought a Mega Everdrive and a rifle with my tax refund a while back, so I didn't really save up to get it.
One dull example of what it can be good for:
Basically, if it's a disc I want it complete if possible. If it came in cardboard original, loose is fine. If it came in plastic then I prefer to have it complete too.
The only exception to that really is the 32X and later cardboard box Genesis titles. Specific to clamshell Genesis games, I want those complete if I'm picking something up, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouse when it comes to pricing. Now that I have an Everdrive I don't buy stuff as often as I used to, but still enjoy what I do have.
I do have plenty of other cardboard packaged stuff that's complete, but most of those are from my childhood or games I really liked or sometimes lucked out on.
A majority of my Genesis collection is loose, and I don't really mind it. I have multiple boxes of loose games, so I occasionally grab a box and sit next the genesis and play/swap games, and that feels like I'm a kid again. If sort of artificially limits your selection for a session/series of sessions, and that is really fun.
CIB if I can, but if a good deal is there I will take loose. Empty cases or custom cases can be had for cheap most of the time. I picked up Batman & Robin and Mutant League Hockey for $5 each loose. I am not about to pass up deals like that for collector status. As much as I love showing off the collection and staring at them, playing them is much more satisfying.
Honestly, I prefer loose carts most of the time. For one thing, it's usually cheaper so I get to buy more games! Storage is also easier/more compact since the Genesis carts are relatively small.
I do have some of the plastic clam shells though and the artwork on them is often pretty cool to look at. But I wouldn't have room for them if every game I owned was CIB.
It depend which game i buy, i always buy games with its box,
if its a sport, unpopular game (like NHL 97, Risky Wood) then i dont care if it doesnt have the manual
but if its a popular, fun game then i only buy if it have the manual
