I have to wonder if they're wanting to read the market for mobile. I didn't select mobile as a platform I play games on. One of the follow-up questions was why. I don't really like mobile games, so I made sure to explain why.

The only mobile game from them that I've played was Sonic 1 for Android (and it's great). Unfortunately S3&K wasn't given the greenlight yet. I don't hate mobile games, but I do have a problem when they are done at the expense of everything else. That's what I criticized and suggested on the survey (along with a SEGA-16 reference, of course). Didn't have a chance to criticize their Steamworks exclusivity though. Maybe next time.

Took the survey when it went up, surprised at how subtle it went from asking general questions to focusing all about mobile. Not surprised at the total lack of retro questions around the Shining franchise.


Fuck mobile gaming. They should focus on PC for ports and AAA development. That's where the demand for their brand is.

It should be noted that I took the time to note on the survey that I discovered this survey from the SEGA-16 forums. I suggest other members do the same in order to let SEGA know that there is a thriving community here.

Yeah, I did this automatically but it first I was like what... no Sega-16.

The roster of franchises listed was excellent though there were some interesting omissions, like Burning Rangers, for example. I was also pretty blunt with Sega, especially when they asked for three adjectives to describe the company. My answer? Historic & Weakened, but still Iconic. I wanted Sega to know that I felt that the company was & still is important to gaming, but is presently weakened & needs to improve.

On that list of franchises I thought why is there no Virtua Racing and why is there two House of the Dead's? Also on the three adjectives to describe Sega I put in "Bad business decisions".

Took it. Damn, that took a while. I too was disappointed with the billion questions about mobile gaming. It's just not for me, but I imagine that android and apple phones are probably the most played video game devices today, so I can't really blame them for wanting to expand their presence in that market. I just hope that they don't abandon the console market. And I really hope that they revisit some of their classic non-Sonic franchises. I gushed about Shinobi, Streets of Rage and Outrun in particular.

Yeah, that annoyed me.
It went from a bunch of nice questions about what I have owned/played, what I am playing now, what I loved about various Sega games...

And then BAM, into mobile, mobile, and more mobile.
If they gave similar questions for PC/Console I wouldn't have cared so much, covering all their bases and all... but it was a complete nose dive right into mobile and nothing but mobile.

Yeah that pissed me off too, So I clearly told them that tablets/phones are for shit like Tetris and nothing more.

Didn't stop Sega from releasing all those Taxman's Sonic remakes on it though, While I only got Sonic CD Remake on my PS3.
Sega wants to make some money? fucking release your shit on everything, its all downloadable stuff these days anyway.

Fuck I was looking forward to console releases of The Taxman's work.
