I may be leaning myself out of the window here, but I think he might consider the amount of people he may reach that way negligible.

In a business conversation? Yeah, if I were him, I'd think twice about ever negotiating with somebody active in said community ever again if THAT'S the reaction I might get, no matter what has or hasn't been said. I think neither party is acting very "professional" here.

Lol since when the gaming industry is professional? You have no idea the massive amount of backstabbing and dirty moves "professional" business do. I dont think I was unprofessional by stating facts and expressing my feelings on the situation. I guess that is why other people like Fonzie Don't come here to post?

Anyways talked to wobbly he was much nicer and said he thought it wasn't a good Idea; I can respect a response like that.
I guess the game(s) won't be released ever lol.

Spoken like a true pro. And to imagine some people think it's not worthwhile dealing with the retro community, despite of all the efforts some people go through. It's a mystery.

And please, don't try lecturing me about the gaming industry. I've made my own experiences, thank you very much. I know how exploitative it can be. You're embarrassing yourself, big shot.

IMO you're the only one embarrassing yourself here.
Piko's best sellers have been Genesis games and Eli has been very responsive to our community.
I think it's pretty comprehensible why he decided to share his frustrations in this thread; what's hard for me to understand is your harshness towards him.

    Too bad...

    What about other 10 ports?

Also, when you plan to release your next Megadrive games?

Well, I don't want to stir any shit. I agree that he's made notable efforts towards the community, no doubt about that. And I'm sure he'll manage to secure more releases for the good old Genesis.

But the attitude like in the OP won't really help him secure many deals with developers who want to aim a little higher than "just" the retro community. Because word spreads, and if this gets around, people will be less eager to start any talks about having their games released on old platforms. It will also make it harder for others trying similar efforts, because it paints the community in a rather negative light - a relatively small buch that's easy to anger and hard to please. Why should they even try talking if they get publically shamed?

So yeah, even if he needs to vent, I don't relly think it'll help his - or others - future endeavors much.

I aprove of Jim Power, and Charlie the Duck.

Heres a vote for a Jim Power/Charlie the Duck crossover.

Like others said, if most of this game is done I would "just" try and do an asset swap and go from there.

I've thought about it; but the level design might be 1:1.

The other ones might be hard. Zuma is one of them owed by EA.

Yeah, there was literally no point in even making this thread but to make people angry for no real reason =/ (besides go ask any teen and they'll say words much worse than antiquated, and sorry but they're going to be right for the most part, and saying this as somebody who makes games for one such platform :v)

    Well the Genesis is antiquated.

I mean it's a great console and I love it but let's not pretend that developing brand new Genesis games is like the most niche thing you can do outside of Atari XEGS or something?
