Just wait for the inevitable Back to the Future trilogy remake to happen.

I can see it now... a 2 & a half hour film directed by Zack Snyder.

Starring Miley Cyrus as Martina McFly, a hypo-manic woman that gets her license suspended for being an ignorant bitch that can't drive right. Her punishment is to help a geriatric Doc Brown as played by Jesse Eisenberg who is blackmailing her to help him, after she collided with his mailbox in a rush to the mall one too many times.

She discovers that he owns a time machine built into an old VW Beetle, and steals it to go back in time to fix all her problems. She gets stuck in 1990. After young Doc Brown discovers that his time machine works some day, and he becomes the big bad asshole hell bent on figuring out who she is, he kidnaps Billy Ray Cyrus and blackmails her into a confrontation that leads to a rape scene filled with square dancing and wrecking balls. Billy Ray saves her by chewing through some rope, punching Eisenberg for the first time in his life, and they both end up dead. As Martina prepares to fade into nothingness, she begins to realize that she was adopted... and that's just the first 20 minutes of this oscar winning magnum opus!

I laughed my ass off. That was pretty bad. I don't think Cyrus would be interested in something like that but my god it was funny.

if we're talking about remakes or additions that worked, i seem to be in the minority with having enjoyed the last (american) godzilla, aka fattyzilla

also the last batch of planet of the apes movies have been fucking fantastic, and dredd very clearly surpassed the 90s one by a country mile

    Dredd clearly doesn't count.

Ah yes, forgot about the Apes. Very good. I quite enjoyed Godzilla, not too shabby but not the best I've ever seen; I do need to see the original though. I'm in the minority with this, but I really enjoy 90s' Dredd, I don't know why, but I just do.

i mean, nothing wrong with enjoying stallone in the day - demolition man is still in my personal top 10 - but fuck, new Dredd was badass, and didn't shit on the comic's fanbase in the process too, which is always neat
related: everyone here should see the Raid, and then Raid 2

I should clarify. I don't consider Dredd a remake, because using Rob Schneider as a plot device automatically disqualifies it as any sort of art form, and therefore the original is not even a movie. Parallels to The Raid aside; Dredd was fucking excellent. I won't however, stand for any bad mouthing of one of the world's greatest movie trilogies(that's right TRILOGY). Mel Gibson will always be Mad Max.

I never read the comics so I suppose that helps. I just like how it's a good 90s ridiculous violent action movie with limited CGI. I haven't seen the new movie, is it recommended?

Dude....dude....erase the Stallone movie from your memory(my preferred method is Ardbeg)and rent or buy Dredd(I only paid $7 for my blu ray copy)and enjoy.

<edit>Also, if you're a fan of comic books do yourself a favor and read the comics.

I'd love to be a fan of comics, but I'm an obsessive sort and it would only lead to a quest for Spiderman #1! I'll check out the new Dredd film at some stage though.

Dredd isn't really a remake, it's just another film based on the same property. A far superior film.

Mad Max Fury Road is a fantastic film too.

You guys are crazy - Judge Dredd '95 was awesome(ly cheesy)! Who could forget such gems as this?

Nah, but on a serious note, it wasn't that bad. It's entertaining at least if you go in expecting a dumb, cheesy movie. As for Dredd; yeah, there really is no comparison. That does the character justice, and it's unfortunate it didn't get the sales needed to greenlight a sequel.

Never read the Dredd comics or seen latest movie. But I liked the 90s Dredd movie too back when I seen it in theatres and a few times on TV when I used to watch TV (so 90s again). I mean it's a great Stallone flick, great image & visuals of it's future setting, and a really cool giant robot. Loved this sci-fi stuff & Stallone movies as a kid.

My brother and I didn't like Fury Road at all. Still big fans of the second and the third.

Just download it. I've read all the Spiderman comics up to just past Todd, Eric Larson (his art really grew on me), and Mark Bagley era in Comic view reader. Lost interest reading any further after that. But did enjoy up to that point.
