No i just like to deal with facts .The Mega CD hardly sold well in Japan, in UK the Mega CD had less than 3% of software charts and in the USA it did well but wasn't massive and that was reflected not in 3rd party support and games sales, but also from SEGA them self's

Barone still being an asshole. Why am I not surprised?

Does anybody even have final numbers on the Sega CD sales? Was it just a few million or did it sell more than that?

Stalk much, Barone? Sega CD was not hugely successful. It has titles, but it was not the hit Sega hoped for.

I never said it was "hugely" successful. But you'd know that if you're here to discuss things rather than to insult long term members at will.

You said it was successful, regardless of you not saying hugely. It wasn't. Maybe instead of using emoji's and editing people's posts, you can contribute.

It sold 2.24 million units according to Famitsu. There's a thread on Sega-16 that lists console sales.

Thank you. Some people a long time ago (not on this site) said six million systems were sold.

The Wikipedia article has a pretty funny note about Sega CD for North America. Japan wouldn't send them a working unit in 1991. Those jackasses in Japan should of had their asses kicked. They pretty much screwed over their biggest market, because of selfish pride.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_CD

Up until the middle of 1991, Sega of America had been kept largely uninformed of the details of the project, without a functioning unit to test (although Sega of America was provided with preliminary technical documents earlier in the year).[7] According to former Sega of America executive producer Michael Latham, "When you work at a multinational company, there are things that go well and there are things that don't. They didn't want to send us working Sega CD units. They wanted to send us dummies and not send us the working CD units until the last minute because they were concerned about what we would do with it and if it would leak out.

A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Sega's Japan division was never really happy about how big the American division was doing.

Barone contributes to this forum, you on the other hand generally insults other members and shit posts all over this place. Not a thread goes by without you taking a big stinking shit all over it. I wish your internet provider would cut your connection so you'd STFU.

That was per SOA's Executive Producer. I've added the quote.
