YES!!!! This is the Sonic 4 that I wanted. Looks like a Sonic game we would've got on the 32X or Saturn. Day One purchase for me.

As long as the controls work better then Sonic 4 then I'm actually hopeful for this.

This game is built using the Retro Engine used in the mobile ports of Sonic 1/2/CD. So it should control just like the classics.

Edit: The icing on the cake for me would be if they did a physical release but made the cover package look like the classic Genesis art like the one for Sonic 2.

Game looks and sounds great, with proper physics (unlike 4 where I could tell right away it was off).
Didn't need to be pixelated and it didn't need to have a copy paste of green hill zone, but beggars can't be choosers.

Sonic 2017 shows they still haven't figured out that nobody likes new Sonic. People liked Generations because that sack of shit was only in half of it.

Colour me very surprised if it did. On it's own at least. Would be great if they ported the Sonic CD remaster, as well as the Sonic 1 & 2 ones (which never saw a home console port, which is a disgrace) and bundled it all into one collection. I'd grab that in a heartbeat.

If anything, here's hoping it means the Sonic 3&Knuckles Remaster will materialize now. And a Knuckles' Chaotix one sometime down the line.
