I'm really looking forward to that flying battery zone style level.
That clip at 0:49 reminds of of music plant from sonic advance 2. That was one of my favorite levels.

The game is only $20 on steam, which is a really tempting price point for me. I'll probably buy it after the reviews come out.

It is now 10% off $17.99 for the pre-purchase. I am with ya on the wait till after reviews and/or see others playing it to know all is well and running smooth on PC.

Why wait for reviews when this game is ridiculous flashback to original tri(&K&CD)logy. I don't know if you have paid attention, but Mania includes a lot of level designs, sprite designs, enemy designs etc. from beta builds, unused works and magazine pictures of Sonic 1,2,3&K and especially Sonic CD.

Even this jumping sprite from Sonic 1 showcased in magazine is added in Mania.


Mania is a product made of love, care and knowledge. That's insane to think of, but Mania is an easter egg by it's own. There's so much included in this game that is related to something from the Sonic franchise and its past.

And game isn't even released, but there's already so many things you can find relations to.

It truly is. I know everyone has their opinions, and I know for whatever reason some people prefer digital media, and I'm not saying they can't feel that way, but that's one thing I couldn't disagree with more. I like actually owning a copy of the thing I have, instead of a temporary license that will go away whenever the parent company loses the rights, or they just stop caring and shut the servers down.

Yeah, I never got to play the last Afterburner game to come out, because I didn't have a PS3 until after it went bye-byes, and I have a bunch of crap on the 360 that is in a precarious situation.

Anything beyond that statement? From those of you who've heard of a physical copy? Specifically on the Switch, which is where most rumors were alluding to. The collector's edition is fantastic, but with just a digital code, I might as well get a Sonic Plush, mount it on my real genesis, unscrew a cheap Sonic 1 cart and insert some random loopy ring inside. Wouldn't that be like, the same and such...?
