The first one you earn continues in the bonus stage. I honestly don't recall how you get them in the sequels.
I was going to get Sonic Mania on the Switch, but hearing that it gets a boost on the PS4 Pro (and the current issues on the bonus stages in the switch version), I'm going with PS4...I'll likely double dip on the switch later.
I picked it up and played it a bit today.
It has some challenge, but not rage inducing.
My biggest point of contention is that it uses a modified version of the Sonic 3 and Sonic CD special stages.
I would have much preferred a new special stage for the game making better use of the improved hardware.
But other than that, it very much does seem like a Sonic CD sequel, and that's not a bad thing at all.
Omg it's actually really good
They finally fucking did it
I managed to crash the game.
Oh my god, the second Robotnik boss... lol

No matter what I do the Flying Battery boss isn't going anywhere near the spikes, it's a pisstake.
EDIT: Use the poles. Yeah dw I got it.
That music to Green Hill Zone that always makes me happy, it never fails. Loving the game and this is really what should have been on the Saturn as a stop-gap with say Sonic CD on the Saturn but with Saturn sprite effects and better gfx on the bonus rounds. until Sonic Adv was ready on the Saturn.
Fun game but I still find the 3D games better myself.
Also speaking of Soinc CD all those lovely sprite effects like rotation on Sonic and the bosses in Mania could and should have been done on the Mega CD by SEGA to show off the ASIC hardware.
Panzer Dragoon Zwei is
one of the best 3D shooting games available
Presented for your pleasure
I dunno, man. Rotation of small sprites in a 240p game can look kinda ugly. I always thought that effect looked weird in Sonic Advance.

...THAT THING IS HUGE!!!
Lol. Some things from your childhood you go back to and they feel a lot smaller in your hands. This thing looks like it got bigger! Damn. No wonder I used to peck at those action buttons rather than use my thumb.
