A fan might be able to create a mod for it on PC, if not maybe make a request at nexus mods. But is that the only reason you're not playing the PS4 version anymore and awaiting Steam version? And did you manage to get all chaos emeralds and Mario coins?
The "3,2,1, Go!" voice. See here for clip of it. Annoys me immensely. I know that they went for a Virtua Racing vibe, but it's so off-putting. Prefer if we had the option to turn it off and be able to use the Sonic 3 beeps.
I'm sure as Thief said, someone will make a mod to "fix" it, but alas, it's jarring to me. Not a biggie, something I could ignore if I had to, but still something I don't like.
That poor guy really needs to sneeze, then record the VO
Oh no, classic Sonic games are flawed from a design perspective, what with occasional spring and spike trap that catch you completely off guard and stop you dead in your tracks. That yes you can still get squished and die even if one pixel of you is in between two walls "Can we just agree that this mechanic needs to go? Like even if it was replaced with just taking a hit instead of instantly dying." Says visionary modern day game reviewer. "What's funny is that the first Acts of each Zone is essentially a remake of the original levels. While the second Acts add some new variety to spice up the areas, so you really only see these unfair tactics from back in the day in these first acts."
"Another frustrating element is that Sonic Mania still uses a lives and continue system. Pushing you to the start of the zone upon failure." Continues visionary modern day gamer reviewer. "I can assume they kept this in, even though it's 2017, partly as a call back to the original games and partly to increase the difficulty." Increase the difficulty, why would anyone want that? "But I certainly had some aggravating moments where I died from a cheap kill on the final boss and had to redo the entire zone all over again." Diabolical.
"The coolest epiphany I had while playing Sonic Mania is that I can at last see what Sonic fans love about the series. Maybe it was the updated graphics and level design. Or maybe it's the fact that a game over screen only sends you back to start of a zone instead of the entire game, but I was finally able to finish a Sonic game." Wow, beating a game means something when reviewing games? Tell us more!
"I now understand the appeal of playing through a Sonic game more then once and feeling like I'm actually becoming a master of the mechanics." Wow.
Think I've thrown in the towel with Sonic Mania. Had a second playthrough started with just Sonic and it's going nowhere. Anybody else manage to beat this game twice?
Honestly a little sad to hear people not liking the voice, especially since it's Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, a.k.a. one of Sega's most iconic music composers (And occasional singer, too... Remember "Rolling Start!!"?). That being said, if people don't like it then I can understand, but I can see why Mitsuyoshi was brought in for it.
