If it stays sealed it looks pretty much the same as new except the sauce is more gel like.

Sonic Mania Plus apparently added codes for the level select/sound test screen (like Sonic 2) that will, among other things...

    - Disable super music
    - Start with all emeralds
    - Enable the Egg Reverie version of Super Sonic (flying + dashing)
    - Enable all Sonic abilities simultaneously (drop dash + insta-shield + peel-out)

The last one alone fucks my face right off. Here's a full list of the codes.

Every version of the game has a different way of triggering the level select, so I'll have to leave you to dig that up on your own.

    For PC/Steam version

    Level Select*

    • In Mania Mode, select the NO SAVE file and open Secrets
    • Enable Debug Mode and select OK.
    • Press A or Start, then quickly hold X on an Xbox controller or Enter, then hold Q on Keyboard

*To access Level Select requires Debug Mode to be unlocked witch requires sixteen medals by completing the Blue Spheres bonus stages. Completing these stages will grant you one silver medal if you get all the blue spheres or one gold medal if you get all the rings as well.

kinda old news but you can't do these codes unless you have beaten the game and have 16 medals. You originally when the game launched just do it form the title screen but they later patched it out.

Or you can enable the dev menu and access the level select (plus other stuff) by pressing Escape anytime in-game.

It's the goodness of spaghetti and gelatin dessert packed into one airtight can! Delish!

WELL THEN. Checking out them Max Control and Vape Mode codes could be the first thing I do after I boot up this beautiful masterpiece of a game that just might be worth buying three times.

Sonic Mania Plus Level Select Cheat Codes: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonicTheHed...odes_wip_list/

    Credit to CodenameGamma:
So sometime before this post, I was alerted to some cheat codes that could be entered from the sound test in the level select of Sonic Mania plus. after that i was able to find and enable "Vape Mode" and since then we've been looking at trying to find ones that might enable that, well a few hours before this post i was able to dump them and here is the full list of ones that the game is looking for.

---Edit: If you repost these please make sure to credit me properly as no one has. CodenameGamma

    Thanks

    1 9 7 9 0 8 1 1 - "Stealth's Code" Changes all Animals into Squirrels.

    4 1 2 6 - All Emeralds

    1 9 9 2 1 1 2 4 - Infinite Continues

    2 0 1 8 0 6 2 3 - Force Encore Mode

    1 9 8 9 0 5 0 1 - Unknown

    2 0 1 7 0 8 1 5 - Egg Reverie flying in any levels as Super.

    9 0 0 1 - Max Control For Sonic (Dropdash, Super Peel Out, Insta-Shield)

    6 2 1 4 - Disable Super Music

EDIT4: removed extra numbers the 3's and 0's weren't needed that didnt stop people from copying the list with them like all over the place.

Try them for yourself and see if they work for you, and reply back with what they do and I'll update the list.

    -----------------------------UPDATE--------------------------------

so i checked how the game does what it does and what gets called when you put a code. Each code has a call that it does.

    00551DD0 - ???

    00551E00 - All Emeralds

    00551E80 - Continues

    00551EB0 - Force Encore

    00551F10

00551FB0 - Egg Reverie Super Sonic

    00551FE0 - Max Control

    00552030 - disable Super Music.

but as you can tell that leaves us with 2 blanks. the first one the code it simple so I can tell you now, that it increments the value that makes Egg Reverie Super Sonic work. When you do Egg Reverie Super Sonic, it sets the value to 2, and this first one sets it to 1, but does it in a way if you do both, it will set it to 3. and that kinda makes no sense, my working theory is that the first code was Vaporwave Mode, but it got scrapped so he changed it so instead of setting the Vaporwave Value it sets the Egg Reverie Super Sonic value + 1, that's the only thing I can think of since it makes no sense.

As far as the other code. 1 9 8 9 0 5 0 1 we know that its someone named "Hunter's" Birthday and he was involved with the game, however, I still don't know what this does by looking at the code. as far as the code i can say that it DOES check if the previous Egg Reverie Super Sonic value is equal to 1, and if it is it will jump to the end of the code to play the ring sound, but before that it checks if the value NEXT to Egg Reverie Super Sonic is 0, and if its 0 also just play the ring sound and nothing else.

what I have done is set both of these conditions to fail so it runs the code its suppose to but it seems like whatever the game is doing or trying to do ends up causing the game to crash for me. not sure why. its also going into other game related processes so maybe it could be trying to run in fullscreen mode or something but can't, or trying to load an object but can't. either way I think this is not going to be explained to a dev explains what its suppose to do, and if it was the vaporwave mode we wanted.

Update 2: Stealth's Code is figured out, we know what it does now. List updated.
EDIT: Didn't see Assman's post above with the same link. I'll leave this here still. Definitely gonna try these out.

What's cool is that, once you put in the codes, they're active in the normal portions of the game too (unfortunately, "max control" is an exception to that for some reason, which sucks as that's my favorite code by far).

Man, I understand DLC is all the rage these days, but why do Sonic Mania Plus when they literally could have thrown the extra content into a Sonic Mania 2? I don't see the justification to buy for half of a new level, a pinball special stage, and what are effectively palette swaps. Just give me Sonic Mania 2 already.

DLC in the 90s was called expansion packs. Sonic Mania is DLC done right as an actual Expansion pack. They can do both things you know.

I tend to agree with this. Not just Sonic Mania. But in games like the Fallout and Far Cry series. I'm just glad Blood Dragon came on a separate disc for the 360. But I just don't see that happening for Far Cry 5. Let alone Fallout 4 ever including the dlc on disc like they also did with Borderlands.

I do hate DLC that is like say for an RPG. Buy this potion pack for 1.99 or in the worst case scenario. Asuras Wrath. You have to purchase the ending of the game. Actually no that's not the worst. Metal Gear Survive. You have to buy save slots. I think Splatoon 2 does it well where it's all free except the full-on expansion. Xenoblade 2 expansion pass has included a bunch of items and quests, modes and basically, story content that is enough to bs it's own retail release with Torna.EA handles it so very poorly. Tho it is sometimes nice when a developer like Aquire says there will be no DLC for Octopath. It's a complete game.

Playing Octopath Traveler now makes me feel like I'm cheating on my RPG backlog. I think it is stupendous. But I'm seriously considering puting it down for now and finishing a slew of DS RPGs of equal grandeur.

This was really meant more as a bonus for the physical release than just DLC for the sake of DLC. They could've plopped the existing version on a disc and called it a day, but I'd much rather have this. Encore mode is a bit underwhelming given that I was originally expecting extensive layout differences, but Ray and Mighty are really fun to use and being able to switch between characters is a nice touch. To me, it's worth the $5, despite some of the issues I have.
