As it stands now, I have a PSP and a 3DS. The former I haven't used in years, and suspect it won't run. That said, The worst game I have is either one of the early Dynasty Warriors on the PSP(awkward strategy-like games in which the CPU can make moves across the turn based board while you're still trying to figure out how to end the current action section you're in), or Fire Emblem: Awakening on the 3DS, because fuck Fire Emblem(. Seriously though, it seems like Shining Force is the only SRPG series[that's ever been localized] that I can tolerate).

Since we are mentioning other systems and not just megadrive, despite the sub forum. Ill take this opportunity and deviate slightly away from this system and mention Double Dragon for the SMS. I bought this one with my blurry nostalgia glasses on. The controls are terrible on this one head butt is assigned to a diagonal press and is too tricky to pull off in game. All moves punch, kick and head butt are useless as enemies are able to recover too quickly and retaliate, sapping your energy. Leaving you to either fly kick or a jumping back kick the whole game with only the occasional barrel to pick up and throw on occasion. I remembered having immense fun as a child playing this multi player with my friends, however doing this nowadays and the sprites are just a flickery mess.
I intend to buy r-type at some point for the SMS I remember this had flickering sprites also, I just hope its as fun as I remember.

In my Genesis collection, probably Onslaught or Andre Agassi Tennis.

In my whole collection? Impossible to say, though Shadow: War of Succession for 3DO is one major turkey, and Race Drivin' for SNES is another.

It doesn't -- TaleSpin is a stinker, unfortunately.

I'm always glad to see SMS Double Dragon get criticized, as I've always thought it was a flickery, unresponsive port, and basically no fun at all. Some people say "But it's two-player!", as if a bad 2P game is better than a good 1P game. I still have fun with NES Double Dragon, but SMS Double Dragon feels like a chore.

Sorry, I didn't recognize where this thread was. I don't have a physical collection for anything else, but my least favorite Genesis game to play when I did was Alien 3. Though I suppose my worst, in terms of critical reception, was Batman Forever(I dunno, somehow I found enjoyment with that one).

I really dont understand how this game was developed during years (first announced and showed in 1992 and just released in 94) with an atrocious result and still released when the great Factor 5's Greatest Adventures game was cancelled

    Rampart,
great game, but the megadrive port is just busted. The controls have like a full second delay at least and, out of 10 button presses, an average of 3 or something gets eaten.
Add a brutal difficulty to that and unforgiving timer and RNG.

What's cool though is that I have the japanese version and it has some (I think) exclusive artwork in the manual which is very good and unexpected.

Segaretro says that Tengen is credited but it's unclear who actually developed it. Indeed I checked the Master System version and it plays just fine (Tengen).

Virtul On Marz. A real stinker. It could have been great, especially with the PS2's stock controller but the story just dragged on ridiculously resulting in endless fights and half arsed missions that just go nowhere.

Yeah, same here. Once you experience Shining Force, you notice all these mind boggling developer decisions in other turn based SRPGs. ie. for the first Game Cube Fire Emblem, only the leader can talk to NPCs which takes away a turn too. Well, how am I supposed to keep him leveling up then? Hold the rest of the army back so the leader can get a few kills too?... Yeah, game is still gathering dust on the self with barely any progress...

Then for the remake of SF1 for GBA, they adopted the FFT style of moving characters (BS method of moving a square icon to where you want your character to move, confirm, then enjoy extra button press and wasting time as you watch him move there. Which is such a stupid downgrade from just moving your character directly in the first place and with 1 less button press. Like, what were the devs thinking?). I think a main reason FFT had this method was due to also choosing which direction your character faces. But SF1 doesn't have gameplay mechanic for which direction they face, lol. Just goes to show you FFT is so mainstream, that it's all anybody copies anymore. Despite being shit. Because Story and Squaresoft. (< I can't believe this site even has this smilie)

    This going to get complicated:
    Worst game I ever played:
Dr. Jekyl And Mr. Hyde (once rented it from a local video store and trust me, it is just as bad as the AVGN makes it out to be, what game encourages you to become the bad guy)
    Worst game I ever owned:
Those cheap Tiger handheld games and Back The Future
Games that are considered bad that I still get some enjoyment of:
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
    Super Pitfall
    Silver Surfer
    The Simpsons games
    Rambo III
Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link
    Raiders Of The Lost Ark
    Metal Gear
T2 The Arcade Game (putting this one on here because it is one of the few good LJN games)
    Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle
    Godzilla (Game Boy)
Gyromite (use a 2nd player instead of ROB)
The 8 bit Star Wars games
    Pac Man (Atari 2600)
    Sonic 3D Blast
    The Mattel Hyperscan
I also would like to try out Hotel Mario, but my oldest son doesn't have a CD-I (he's a game collector) and I don't where I would get a free CD-I emulator.

Hydlide NES pretty much hands down for me. It didn't cost me nothing to get it, but got it due to a friend getting my copy of Super C I loaned him stolen. He even threw in Ghosts N Goblins on NES, but that did not make up for Super C (I do have another copy these days, before it's price shot up). I only keep Hydlide as I don't get rid of my game, no matter how much of a stinker they are.

probably the only game i wouldn't really go back to as a kid was Chakan, i don't need to take that trip too many times. Really not sure why i bought it either but its there.

i would play that over star wars arcade though on the 32x. yikes that was hard.

Probably Corporation, or Cyber-Cop as it's called in the US. Hugely ambitious, but the quasi-3D gameplay just doesn't run smoothly. Add in a bunch of RPG systems, all of which seem incomprehensibly complex, and you've got a dense, sluggish game hardly worth playing at all, much less getting to the end of. I also seem to recall blurry passwords that were about 20 characters long.

I can't believe people hold up Super Thunder Blade as "terrible". It's nowhere near.

Here is an actual crapola game, which I own: Dark Castle. Unplayable.

Super Thunder Blade is just a but choppy, but completely playable.

*Of course if STB is the worst thing you have played, you are a very lucky gamer!
