I don't give a fuck. The name calling and petty insults on all three of them need to stop. I like a person that can defend Sega, but Barone is getting out of line along with chilled and Andromeda.

I love me some Donkey Kong Arcade (NES, 2600). Never did play Punch-Out (have Mike Tyson on NES)

Yes sorry I meant at the time. Those are mostly older titles than outrun, golden axes etc but well you are probably right as I was just following the usual Sega's high profile on the arcade vs Nintedo being bigger on the console market since the Famicom

Then you should of just said that instead.

What a wonderful game, last time i finished this game, it was perhaps on 2010.
This game always impressed in true condition.
This game has a crazy atmosphere.
Yes, several snes hits have crazy atmosphere, i'm thinking about akumajo dracula, super metroid and actraiser for example.
You can make specials effects, many sprites on screen, nervous gameplay in front of this snes games, it doesn't change anything.
Even on megadrive, among my favorite games, gameplay is important and also atmosphere is decisive.
For example, i like atmosphere of super shinobi ( revenge of shinobi ), it reminds me ninja B movies on 80's.
I prefer gunstar heroes compared to contra hard corps because artwork design is better on Gunstar Heroes.
And , gameplay is more confortable adjusted on Gunstar heroes.
Ok, it's good to make nervous games but don't forget playing comfort.
On gunstar heroes, it is nervous but thanks to the possibility of catching the enemy, it is confortable.
I am an arcade player, i have danmaku games as ketsui, do donpachi dai ou jou, esp galuda on PGM SYSTEM.
Yes, it is nervous but thanks to collision mask, we can dodge bullets.
I blame some megadrive games to make some games too nervous to the detriment of the balance game.
The MD ones which I really dislike are the super harsh, unpolished ones; such as X-Men and Chakan.
Chakan sucks to no end IMO. And I've find quite more MD games than SNES ones like that; I'm not sure if Nintendo would allow publishing shit like that.

Hey, X-Men MD is awesome and polished just enough. So I won't hear any of that.

Hahahaahah, oh, I'm always in the polarizing end I guess.
I've seen other people who share the same opinion of yours (StarMist, Kollision, etc.); but I find it (the game) simply unacceptable. It looks and feels really clumsy, runs choppy, sounds annoying and it's harsh on the player.

I love X-Men 2: Clone Wars though and a lot of people also hate it.

It wouldn't have worked. Unless you got glasses on, there have already been four or five fights in this topic and it's usually involves one of those three or all. It's time to put the foot down on them before it gets much worse.

Got a chance to look at sengoku's post. Super Castlevania IV might be my favorite game on the SNES and the best of it's 91 lineup.

I don't know. I just want to see talk about games instead of the constant fighting. Like that sengoku fella who talked a little about Super Castlevania, which I've said earlier is probably my favorite title on the SNES and of its 91 lineup. I've always had a lot of fun with that. Did play Zombies Ate My Neighbors on it (Have the Genesis version), but that was quite a few years ago. But nothing beats playing Doom on the PlayStation for Halloween stuff. I gotta get to playing Medievil again. Anybody know any good Halloween stuff to play on 16-bit systems?

Finally decided to play ActRaiser. I must say that the music fits quite well with the overall premise and style of the game. Released in 1990, I can see why alot of people raved about this game back in the day! I'm having a blast! Hopefully I will be able to beat this game in the near future and attempt ActRaiser 2!

Amen to that. I love PSX Doom, the sound is incredible and the coloured lighting adds a lot to the experience. I've just finished beating two of the three chapters of Final Doom on Ultra Violence, feels good man. Plutonia Experiment is pretty rough Final Doom has mouse compatibility as well if that's your thing, although I've become a bit of a gun with the pad after all this practice so not too worried about that myself.

The Splatter House series springs to mind, and so does Devil Crash if you like some pinball related tomfoolery. Perhaps MK as well but frankly I'd rather play the arcade versions. Nosferatu on SFC looks interesting.

    About games for the Halloween:
    http://www.sega-16.com/2005/10/holid...for-halloween/

I'd add Gauntlet IV, I think it has a dark atmosphere to it.
Ghostbusters is also a pretty good one IMO.

Don't waste your time .. I couldn't wait for that game after the hype of 3 years of development and tons of frames of animation and a Prince of Persia killer . Its pretty rubbish (though it sounds amazing) and not a patch on Castlevania IV - which to me is just about as good as it gets. Also I love POP on the Snes and a game that sounds way better on the Snes than most other versions and I'll include the Mega CD/MD versions in that

Dracula Unleashed is fab one of the best point and click games ever made and the b movie sets and acting just add to a top laugh and great game, I like playing Bram Stoker's Dracula on the Mega CD due to music being really really creepy and liking the atmosphere for about 10 mins lol . I also like playing Star Flight on the Mega Drive (not only is the best space game ever made, it got some really weird music and creepy sound effects . I agree with you on the Doom soundtrack, but to me the Quake Music on CD is every more scary and weird

To me, Ketsui is pretty much the shooting game apocalypse. Actually, I think CAVE's last shooter DDP Saidaioujou is perhaps even more difficult, at least for me.

Funnily enough the CAVE ports on 360 were part of the reason I got back into Mega Drive after all this time - Even the toughest (fair) 16-bit console games are like a relaxing holiday compared to some of those. I'm really not dedicated enough for the more difficult bullet hell stuff.

    Which games are you thinking?
