    Default Enjoy

Edit: The artwork doesn't lend itself well as a cartridge label. I will need to explore options.

    Edit2:
So I came up with this.

You know what as much as I don't particularly like the artwork that box isn't half bad. At least it accurately portrays whats in the game.

Here goes an unpopular opinion, oh well, japanese boxart is better looking 80-90% of the time (this includes saturn and dreamcast). This is one of those times.

So than what's your opinion on this unfinished Golden Axe III cover I have been working on? It is one part also unused NA art and Japanese cover art. I can use a fresh eye of your or any opinion.

    Cover 1

Edit: I think I like this one more.

Not that it's your graphic design choice but god the Golden Axe logo sucks, it's so bland and boring with zero personality whatsoever. I'd replace it if it was me.

Also i'd center Ax Battler, and move the other two characters a bit further inwards, so the girl is blocking less of the Genesis logo.

That's not Ax Battler it is Kain Grinder. Yeah I try to keep the art true to or close to it's original conception. Also I wonder what women's rights would think about moving Sara Burn into background behind Kain Grinder? But really that would be a lot of work and a reimaging of Boris Vallejo work Edit: not to mention one would not be able to see her cutlass or boobies. I do agree about Golden Axe title but it was what was used.

I need to do something with the Mustang but maybe just put a UPC over most it but that still wouldn't cover the writing on his chest. It would be tough work but some more time and patience I could get 'er done.

I just don't like the art style. Wether it's the unreleased US Gunstar Heroes or Golden Axe III.
The Japanese GAIII is slightly better than your mockup, but really the differences are so minor that they're almost the same. Which is bad, they look equally bad. Like I said, I don't appreciate the art style.
However, I like the way the characters reach outside of the frame in your cover. Not trying to offend anyone, just my imho.

A couple of good examples of what I mean, when I say "japanese covers look better", are Jet Set Radio for DC, Dynamite Headdy for MD and Bare Knuckle.

Dynamite Headdy's best boxart is the EU version by far.

The US one is ugly and the Japanese one is just weird.

The European one was just elegant. Well, it really helped for me to buy that game when I saw it in the store xD I already knew the game from magazines and it was in my "to-buy" list, but when I saw the boxart I just knew I had to buy it.

It's like Sonic 1, Rocketknight adventures or Ristar boxarts. Feels like there's a great game in there.
