I don't know about the current curse, but I payed 36 € back in 2008. It is still a good profit
that he is making and I must say it is pretty unfair to those people who wanted the game
badly, saved their money up to the point of non-availability and now have to pay a higher
    price for that pre-order.

Nope, not unfair or unwise at all, and once the word of it gets out that it's for sale anywhere after the reviews come out CUL will sell out at asking price. I have to disagree, Saibot. It was available for a long time before they sold out, there was plenty of time for people.

Sure, there was plenty of time. But lets face it: this is not something very well known. A
niche market. It is thinkable, that someone got the news too late and couldn't pre-order the
game, just because Christthesavior is hoarding stuff. So in the end, not even the developers
made money with that first run, but he will.

Sure, I am to blame Nightwolf didn't get his copy - after preorders were available for two years. If I were to decide this game would still be available via piersolar.com.

@Nightwolf: You can still order the game, either by waiting for Watermelon selling their remaining stock once the preorders shipped, or by ordering at a reseller.

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

You are missing one thing here: the game is still NOT AVAILABLE. Because it is not released. And noone have a clue when it will be released. lol

As far as I know they're preparing the preorders as we speak...

    Yep.

Should be ready to ship in Summer of 2012, that way we'll get a few months to play it before the world as we know it ends in December of that year.

I don't think anyone thought the preorders would sell out at all. It's kind of ridiculous when you think about it. Why would you sell out of something you haven't even made yet?

    Let's hope not!

I understand the reason was that they printed only x number of boxes/manuals and that these were custom made and thus expansive to produce.

Still, IF you're taking preorders this early it'd have been better to wait and see how many orders you get and then produce the number of copies ordered. Right now I think there are waaay too few copies to actually meet demand.

Whether scalping copies of Pier Solar (before it is even out) is fair or not, it is definitely inconsiderate and selfish. Some might even consider it immoral.

One must decide if doing something like this weighs on their conscious or not, and if not, well I guess everyone has different moral opinions. Or he/she knows it is wrong but does it anyways, ignoring any conscious objections.
